Who can forget Tucker Jenkins? No one who watches Eastenders, that's for sure.
I remember no 73 as well, but didn't until you mentioned it. Wasn't Pat Sharp the DJ in that?
I liked the Chart Show as well, very good, although when it changed from Channel 4 to peak time ITV I kept bloody missing it.

The chart show, C4, 6pm fridays for 1/2 hour. Cartoon like openning credits, a rollercoaster
What was that BBC2 music type show, No Limits was that it's name?

The Chart Show was on for an hour. When it moved channels I think it went to Saturday at 12 or something really inconvinent like that.
No Limits? Hated it.

The chart show started out being a half hour show I'm pretty sure.

Best thing about the eighties must be the cartoons; you just don't get quality like Thundercats, Mysterious Cities Of Gold, and Ulysses anymore! Another classic: Monkey! Bring back the man with Pigsy, Tripitaka and co!

Monkey, out on video at a store near you now (well in the UK anyway).
As for thundercats, the cartoon was quite good, but how about the outtakes... http://www.claws-and-paws.com/thundercats/

I have no shame. I have that video. And it's just as funny as it was then but now with added nostalgia! The Thundercats out-takes were indeed humourous, but for true reminiscent comedy, I have found few sites that rival the rather good T-Files; Mr T roundly kicks the ass of sugarpops freaks and pathetic modern cartoonery. Pokemon lovers beware......... I pity the fool that loves that yellow bundle of squeakyness!

So much for the dayshift Thundercats? Now how can that be mentioned in the smae forum as 'Miami Vice'? not to mention other greats such as 'Hill Street Blues' & 'St Elsewhere'?

Wasn't The Chart Show on for 45 minutes at first? I'm sure it only became an hour long when it moved to ITV.
What about The Roxy? ITV's answer to Top Of The Pops, lasted about six months in 1987.

It seems so strange that we can all discuse for weeks all the things that where great about the 80's.
Just a few comments - Ferris Buellers Day off - Top Classic, have in video collection.
Quantum leap - Last episode such a tear jerker.
Monkey - Now was the Budda male or female?
Being able to by penny sweets at the newsagents and get loads for 10p!
Scarecrow and Mrs King - Loved it!
Hong Kong Phui - So glad that you can now see this on the Cartoon channel.
Cheers, Million Dollar Man / Woman,Jamie and the Magic Torch, Chorton and the Wheelies.
I really could go on forever and still think of new thinks that where missing.
Someone mentioned The Last Starfighter, Oh my God I thought I was the only one who saw and loved this movie.
Keep remembering the good time!
R :O)
