"Man in a Shed" off Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake. Mournful yet oddly funky.

Godspeed You Black Emperor. Aren't they a John Peel kind of band?
As for obscure, how about Happy by Elf.

"Kom lad os brokke os", TV-2 (yet another incomprehensible language)
Abi, I loved your listening to Edit Piaf -- and I wonder what the tech boys would say to music in Danish... (the style might be slightly more acceptable, though )
Oops, while typing, the RPJ slipped into "I Can't Make You Love Me". An old classic, but this time done just so well by Danish singer ("-ess") Sanne Salomonsen.....
Have a good day, all

Godspeed You Black Emperor... Peely could be into them, it's a while since I've heard his music show, though I think they may not be thrashy enough for his usual tastes.
Elf... that was Ronnie James Dio's old band wasn't it? That is obscure.
Right now I'm listening to Sex God Missy (Lumberjack Mix) by Tad, on the God's Balls album.

I'm sure I've at least heard Peely mention them.
You're right about Elf, Dio before he went off to become part of the original line up of Rainbow (which started out with most of Elf and Richie Blackmore). The nearest I can think to describe to sound is the sort of country rock ala The Faces & Rod Stewart.
And the tune right now, At The River, Groove Armada.

Dave Matthew's Band..."Crash Into Me"
It's on the radio. 95.5 WPLJ plays such mood music on the weekends. Pity it's such crap the rest of the time...

I just heard Aerosmith/Bonney Tylor doing "Crazy Love" or something on X-FM, funniest thing I've heard in ages.
..."I wish everyone else was dead
but you Baby."
"I Know, could you throw some
Maccaroni at me"
~splat~
etc...
What music are you listening to at this precise moment?
Emar, the Flying Misfit... Yes, seriously, he's back... Posted Aug 7, 2000
The "filler" that they're playing on NPR's "Fresh Air."
