Back in the real world, though, I think everyone has their good and bad points, but it is much nicer to be with someone you can actually TALK to, rather than simper to.

Despite the fact that my work is full of women and I have many women friends it has been *years* since I met a member of the opposite sex who actually stimulted my brain.
With at least two of my male friends, I can talk about abstract things- you know- life, the universe, everything, politics, current affairs, what if the world was overrun by fat people with flat bellies?, where will software bloat end?...
And we can laugh about the weirdest, most surreal, but at the same time, interconnected topics- form our very own comedy act, just for our personal amusement, without any effort, and in almost every conversation we have.
Since an extremely smart, witty and funny girl pal of mine died a couple of years back now, there have been no such *females* to fill the gap. All I have are endless conversations filled with banalities- what's happening at work, why is my boss so mean?, you'll never guess what happened at Tesco's yesterday, blah blah on the telly is breaking up with... blah blah in real life is breaking up with...... balh blah blah, bloody blah...
I'm sure there just as many intelligent women out there as men, it's just that i'm not meeting any of them, and the lack of intellegent female company is rotting my brain as we speak- I can feel it wasting away....
It actually aches- a real physical ache from lack of laughter with a woman.
For those of you who have someone you find physically attractive and *also* mentally attractive, I can only bow down in respect and envy, and hope that one day, before I die of old age, I meet someone similar, but i'm not holding my breath- life and the universe hold no gurantees- The first person to give me the 'there's someone for everyone' *sh*te* gets garrotted, and that's a promise

"Another question: Do you men prefer "girly" women or stronger personalities?"
Are you using girly as a euphamism for weak willed? Are you using strong personality as a euphamism for interesting, for stubborn, for unfeminine? Something else?

Think of women as a swimming pool, swimming tends to be easy at the shallow end... You often find learners standing in the shallow end.

Put it that way, and the answer is none of the above. I'm no more interested in a simpering, useless ninny than I am in a bitch on wheels.

Then you may commence genuflecting in my general direction.
I tend to gravitate towards intelligent people, so I've found many women who were both interesting and attractive. It was the available part that usually got in the way. Such women spend only rare moments on the dating market. The one I eventually married had deliberately held herself out of the market until just before I met her... and already I had competition.

Yeah, I'm currently counting my blessings that I have someone who appreciates my brain!
(And my tits....)

I'm just saying it annoys me how many women act deliberately weaker than they are (mentally and physically) and was wondering whether guys actually consider that a turn-on... Glad you don't like either example!

Actually, there's a word fr that in the meaning of Liff:
Puning: Boosting a man's ego by pretending to be unable to open a screwtop jar.

Oh dear, when will i ever learn not to post whilst under the influence? I did get a bit emotional didin't i..
Anyway, Blatherskite, I also "tend to gravitate towards intellegent women", however, my difficulty currently lies in finding any to gravitate towards
It's probably something to do with working in Glasgow..It is renowned for many things- in my humble opinion however, a surplus of bright folk isn't one of them (With the possible exeption of the West end and the University areas-not that academical ability ever inferred real world intellegence or common sense and wit). Jeese, the dullards I see and hear every day
"It was the available part that usually got in the way. Such women spend only rare moments on the dating market."
That would seem to hit the nail on the head. Many women who radiate intellegence and confidence, also tend to radiate unapproachability and a lack of sexual appetite (in small-talk conversations anyway), and without exception, the ones i've met have been firmly rooted in a long term relationship, no doubt with someone like you Mugmump, who would probably fight to the death to keep ahold of such a hard won prize!
On, the other hand, all the women i've been involved with so far have had few if any sexual inhibitions and don't get me wrong that's great I just long for the in-depth conversations and sharp wit as well, without having to turn to male friends, who, to be honest, just do nothing for me sexually
Don't ask for much, do I?
