Roy,
I hate you!
I'm stuck at work eating a healthy apple, and have no marmite at home to look forward to!

At least you haven't eaten a month's worth of salt in the last eight hours.

Mmmm, salt. I could use some salt right now. Maybe I'll sneak into the neighbours' barn and use the salt lick.
(I tried one once, though, when I was twelve or so, and it was . I was putting a new one out for the and , and couldn't resist trying it first )

MMF, there is no such thing as a spare jar of Marmite.
That's like saying 'spare cheese', 'spare beer' or, possibly the silliest concept the world has known, the 'spare cigarette.'
:P

I was once told that no one exposed to this goo after the age of three will ever find it edible. I can believe this.
Total rubbish.Took 25 years but now my eldest loves it.
One down, a few billion to go...

If there's one thing I don't like, it's finding toast crumbs in a jar of Marmite. I've nearly kicked guests out for it before.
One person tried to justify it: "All you *do* with it is put it on toast, so what difference does it make?"
Yes, but not yesterday's toast, or toast from a fortnight ago.

The in-jar purity of the Marmite must be maintained at all costs.
That there are people in this world who do not understand this gives me great distress. I flagellate myself three hooves left of Wednesday if I leave even the tiniest hint of butter in the Marmitey splendour, let alone a toast crumb.
They say that the country and, indeed, the world, is going to the dogs. They cite the recession, wars, litter in the streets and the popularity of Cilla Black as evidence of a malaise that works its way into the heart of our increasingly despondent species, yet they fail to recognise the corruption of be-jarred Marmite for the mark of the degeneration of the human race that it truly is.
Ooh, the toast's ready.

Oh dear. You lot over there really *are* foreign, aren't you?
Taking your love of a substance most of the civilised world has never heard of to such extremes...

Of course I know! That's the stuff you get in little tiny bottles next to the soy sauce in the foreign foods section of the posh supermarket.

Marmite even featured in the Anarchy Gordon cartoon in , if I'm not mistaken. Although you mightn't have recognised it in its tartan jar.
