Ok. Hands up who hasn't had themselves checked out for SDIs when changing partners?
I confess that I have had a three unchecked sexual encounters since my last one, two of which I am comfortable were 100% a-ok. But as Kosh says, safe sex isn't always safe.
Damn. I have just talked myself into another visit to the clap clinic, haven't I?

Er... make that four encounters. Three "safe" ones.
Goddess I feel naive.
I wonder if there's a GU clinic in town?

The Military insist on regular checks, so I just carried it on into civvy street. Better safe than sorry.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN !
The Armed Forces insist their members (don't) are as fit and healthy as possible. However, STD and related checks are NOT automatic routine- Symptoms are treated, where they show up, and routine check ups are voluntary, not mandatory. The sensible get it done, the lazy don't. A SERVICEMAN/WOMAN IS NOT GUARANTEED CLEAN AND SAFE SIMPLY BECAUSE HE/SHE IS A MEMBER OF THE FORCE- IT IS NOT AN AUTOMATIC 'SAFE BET' BY ANY MEANS.

I was wondering how guys would feel about a woman with an enlarged clitoris?

Just the thought of a new partner brings up images of those horrifying stirrups, all that gynaecological prodding and poking about and then there are some that they need to do "acid tests" for. I had a nervous moment a while back and went in for the "whole works". The memory of the experience is like an ice-cold shower if I'm ever faced with the prospect of new chap.
The HIV infection is the worst fear tho. My long-time best (gay) male friend died of AIDS 8 years after initial infection. His partner was a rehabilitated drug user and seemed fine. His family abandonded him (the disease can get really ugly) and he spent the last 6 months of his life in my home. Its truly an insideous disease. These days teenagers of all cultural backgrounds are being diagnosed positive everyday here so you never know - with anyone - if they could be infected or not.
The public health system here is defunct so anyone without private medical aid is in for massive costs just to get STD's treated. I guess it puts a bit of a damper on the tone of the discussion - but its certainly not the 60's anymore.

Um, my post is possibly ambiguous. What I meant to say was that I have, when I was younger, failed to visit the quack's following/before/when changing partners. I'm now good about going to ol' clinic at appropriate times.
Hope that clears ump any possible confusion. Um.
Z- probably 'thank God, one I can actually *find*'

z, I was asking this question of some male pals the other night - does size matter? W.r.t female genitalia. An ex of mine told me there was a whole prefference table about clitoris sizes, but my male friends now dont seem to think it matters at all.

"In the middle, at the front, how hard is that?"
*blinks at Kosh's post* - The last lot of tests I had involved a couple of swabs and some bloodtests and that was it. No stirrups, and I cannot remember if I got her to do a smear because she might as well do it while she was looking, or whether I skipped on that one. They tend to blur together, don't they.
No GU clinics up here, looks like its the GP then.

Well other than Kerr's "Z- probably 'thank God, one I can actually *find*'" I dont know either . . . must be some teenage male subculture that really goes into preferences.
Are smaller penises more sensitive do you think? Physically there are x number of nerves etc crammed into a smaller space?

I'm just writting an essay on the long term sexual results of surgery for babies who are born with enlarged clitorises and it does seem that they have poorer sexual function.
I was just thinking that most men wouldn't really be bothered at all by a partner with a large clit.

This brings us back to circumcision though. The smallest guy I was with was circumcised, and he wasn't the keenest on sex. Mind you, I was young and clumsy in those days, so who knows whose fault that was.
It could be about thresholds too. Are small people more sensitive to pain? If so - how come I feel pain more easily when I am bloated and pre-menstrual.
It is an interesting question.
What this conversation needs is some gay men.

I wouldn't have thought that small people are more sensitive to pain, and I can't see a reason why they would be.
Some gay men? Run along and whistle some up then.

can imagine that it would be pretty uncomfortable for the woman tho! The whole point of the "design" is that its always folded away and protected from . . . . well the outside elements. Eeeek, cant imagine being exposed like that all the time! Although I guess if one's used to it . . . .
