How do you fasten your bra? (possibly Female centric)

I have one bra that I'm especially happy with, one that I wear reasonably often (it doesn't give such good shape), one semi-basque that I wear for plunge, not comfort, two full basques that I wear because they are pretty and wwork under jackets etc if I dont want to wear a shirt and a couple of sports bras which I only wear for horse riding and gym...

I replace them when they wear out as i have to spend, usually, a minimum of £20 quid for a decent bra and I hate shopping! (plus the likelyhood of me finding bras I like are pretty slim, probably one for every other bra-buying trip. Awful hit record!)

TC : "Can anyone tell us, once we've found out the volume of our boobs, how to work out what they weigh? And, if so, why we should need to know their weight?"

Can't you wirk out (roughly) what they weigh as a percentage of whole body volume / whole body weight?

And as to why, it's to test the "You dont get many of them to the pound!" claim isn't it? smiley - winkeye

Don't get me started on T-shirt bras. Bra manufacturers seem to thing that women larger than about 38D don't wear T-shirts and therefore don't need seamless bras. If anybody knows where I can get a T-shirt bra in a cup-size above D, I'd be grateful to hear about it. A reasonably priced bra (significantly less than £30) would be best, but maybe that's asking too much.smiley - sadface

Oh probably far too many! My 3 current faves - cream beige and black - and then about another half dozen that get worn on a regular basis. And then about another dozen that don't get such frequent use - strapless, halter, fancy etc. I change bra every day so I need sufficient to survive between wash days.

Sho - employed again!

Debenhams do them up to size G (mine are 36F)

I'm not sure what you think expensive - but I'm pretty sure mine were around the 20 quid mark

some I've had for a few years now

But don't get me started on bra manufacturers. I remember trying to get a sports bra while i was in the Army. The sales lady rather sniffily informed me that larger ladies don't do sport.

Larger ladies don't do sports? Probably because they can't find a decent bra!

With me it's not size that's the problem so much as support - I hate too much bounciness - so I usually wear sports bras. Have three or four of those and also a black and a grey underwire bra for wearing under dresses and things, but don't like them as much.

As for "there probably are lots of useful things one can do with a plaster cast of one's boobs!" - why plaster? Use chocolate! smiley - winkeye Then you can eat it.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

I have two bras that currently fit (and about a dozen that don't, and a few sports bras and half a dozen useless things called nursing bras). When you get to my size a bra usually costs over £30 and as I'm changing size regularly at the moment it isn't worth buying many so two it is, one to wear and one to wash. I have to alternate between light tops and darks as one bra is white and the other black.

One day I will havea dozen matching bra and pants sets. That day will be shortly after my lottery numbers come up - why is it that if a bra costs £40, the matching knickers (which don't have any kind of fancy engineering) have to cost £20?

I rarely do matching undies (as can be confirmed in another thread smiley - laugh) £20 for knickers? smiley - yikes

I have a few black bras for under dark tops and white/ various pastel for lighter tops. TBH I don't have the patience to spend hours hunting for the *perfect* bra and usually make do smiley - erm

As regards matching bras and panties, if they are the same colour they match. I try to make sure I wear white with white, black with black. The only matching sets I have are the 'sexy' things hubby bought me at various times.

Yeah I used to be very strict about matching tops and bottoms. These days I'm more likley to take a pragmatic approach - white shirt needs a white bra - those black trousers need a pair of kecks with no VPL, and black is probably the least visible underneath them.

I think most men are more interested in unfastening bras than fastening them.

Larger ladies don't do sports? What a load of smiley - bleepHow then do we explain www.titlenine.com? Their bras are rated by barbells, signifying the amount of activity or seen another way, the amount of bounce that is eliminated.

Plaster vs. Chocolate:
Unfortunately, you can't use chocolate to make a cast of your boobs, because chocolate won't set up at boob-temperature. It'll stay melty.

Though you could use silicone (or similar) to make the mold, then fill *that* with chocolate...

Department stores are the way to go..

In terms of spending time buying bras, I dont spend hours, far from it. I do a quick walk around the lingerie department eying up styles and colours I like, check for rough sizes (if a range doesn't go up to my size, eliminate it immediately!), and when I find a style I like in my size, I pick one or two in varying sizes thereabouts as well so I can be sure I' getting the right fit (like, down a back, up a cup size, or maybe just up a cup size, that sort of thing), do this for each of the maybe two or three bras I'm interested in, then try them on. Probably 45mins max and I either have a good bra at the end of it or I come away empty handed but knowing I havent bought something essentially useless...

Plaster casts: silicone moulds: chocolate, jelly, whatever type of breasts you want!

Please,let's be serious,

What kind of chocolate are we talking about?

To do properly a mould the paste must contain a lot of butter so that it can stay unmelted when it gets cold.
This chocolate wouldn't be apt to consume.
If the consumer wants to lick the chocolate then, the paste must be different. Note that, Big All, this paste is only for licking it not to do moulds:

Method:
Mix in a bowl a spoonful of pure cacao with sugar and water or milk.
The paste must be a bit thick, but not much because the licker can get exhausted to take it off completely.( and we may need its licking abilities later)

smiley - choc
