I've got to agree with the comments about the parents of that poor little girl, you have to wonder why 2 doctors would leave children of that age alone like that.
I also find all the recriminations against the police a little strange.

On the radio news they just announced that "the brightest super-nova ever seen" (don't know how they know that) has exploded. Can't wait for tonight! Probably be a bit of a naked-eye flop - as these space events often seem to be.

'Greater Manchester police investigates claim it has BNP members in ranks.'
Quote: 'The force vowed that any officer found to be a BNP member could be sacked.'
Sacked for your political beliefs? Crikey.

To quote the article, "Police officers are not allowed to be members of the BNP, which is widely seen as being racist and which has members with convictions for violence. The policy was passed by police chiefs three years ago. They say membership of the party is incompatible with officers' duties under race equality laws."
So sacked because it is incompatible with their duties.

But the article makes no reference to other political parties so, if accurate, the force discriminates on the basis of political allegiance.
'widely seen as being racist and which has members with convictions for violence'. Looks like the GMP wants to be seen to be doing the right thing regazrdless of the morality.

That is probably because they have so often been caught out doing the wrong thing in the past. The GMP has a track record for racism and homophobia.

It used to be the case that a police officer was not allowed to be a member of any political party - and that was a good thing.
In some countries almost the whole police force are members of the same political party - they have to be to pass the job interview - and that's a bad thing.

Singling out one party seems a tad short sighted. Should degfinitely be an all or nothing approach.
