I watched a fair bit of the Tim Minchin. Yes it was good stuff. But I thought it went on too long in the same vein. I switched it off after about 2/3.

Italian seismologists are going to be tried on charges of manslaughter, for failing to warn people of a large earthquake. This despite the general consensus being that we donĀ“t have ways to predict earthquakes yet.

There's a cartoon version that's a little more interesting
visually. And you won't have to stare a Mr Beetlejuice.

That's brilliant.
I appear to be some sort of weird person who has acquired ADHD in middle age. Mind you they do say bipolars are forever trapped in adolescence.

What isn't mentioned in that story is the fact that the farmer is in a riding which just a few weeks ago elected an Opposition member to Parliament. Our Prime Minister has made trips to a wildfire disaster in Alberta and to Floods in Manitoba (Government MPs represent the areas) but those suffering from the flood (six weeks under water and counting) in Quebec, which voted overwhelmingly for the Opposition in our election a few weeks ago have seen no sign of any Government Minister and calls for emergency help from the military were ignored for a week, then refused (on the grounds that the military would be competing with the private sector), and then finally some extra help was sent after the Premier of Quebec spoke directly with the PM.
If the farmer had been in the Manitoba floods (and voted Conservative), he'd have a couple of platoons of reservists cleaning the fish out of his fields.
