I will watch it, definitely. I just think it would not exist without Mr B's inception.
The original Superman movies were pretty good, in a goofy way and especially compared to some of the superhero pap released in recent years...

I meant up yours in reference to Adaptation.
And as if you could come with anything half as good as that film or f***ing California Man for that matter.
Take your head out your arse for gods sake!

Tim Burton didn't invent Batman, you know. Batman Begins is a creditable stab at doing the Dark Knight Detective schtick which came into vogue with Frank Millers version of the character in the Mid-80's.
Batman Begins actually goes back to the Englehart/Rogers version of the mid/late-70's, and even the Neal Adams Version of the late 60's/early 70's. Although the list of writers in the comic world who they've had to pay off as a result of a class action suite is truly impressive...

*sigh* I miss those Neal Adams tales.
Didn't he practically invent Ras Al Ghul?

Ijust think that Begins is done better.
I think Bale makes in infinitly better Batman/Wayne than Keaton did. I also think that Nolan is much better at handling the action scenes than Burton was. Also Cillian Murphy rocks as the scarecrow. Well creepy even before he does his stuff.
Dont get me wrong Burton is one of my faves (Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood being his best IMHO) but he is quite up to speed on action sequences is you ask me.

Blue Shark I got to disagree with you Adaptation is not rubbish. I wonder though what about the ending did you deduce 20 minutes into the movie?
In my oppionion Adaptation is brilliant. I simply love the third act when Donald takes over as Author of the screenplay.
And the "Deconstructionst" gag had me for ages.

Blues Shark is a goit, don't listen to him
It is great and there is no way you could deduce the ending from the first twenty minutes, he's just trying to be zany...don't encourage him!

Loved Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood, but Burton's best film for me was Beetle Juice.
I also can't see how you can predict a whole film from the first twenty minutes. Especially Adaptation. Maybe I is thick though!

No, Disco Stu. Although I did guess Bruce Willis was dead in the Sixth Sense...but that is a whole different animal from Adaptation.
Imagine the scene: Your sitting down to watch it for the first time. You've just seen the first bit with Meryl Streep, then you say 'oh, I know what'll happen, she'll go off with the bloke with no teeth who will then be eaten by a shark and the twin brother will die in an accident involving a park ranger.
Doesn't make a lick of sense!

Sixth sense I *did* guess the ending from the opening scene however. Armed with the sole piece of information that this was "a scary film about ghosts" I watched Bruce Willis get shot and reappear after the fade-out with the caption "Fall" and thought "That's odd"
About 20 minutes later I'd convinced myself he was a ghost but not sure why.
Rhe ending when it came still had the "Oh!" moment with the single dinner serving etc, but I wasn't surprised by it.
And don't be too harsh on Blues Shark. Me and Him don't always agree but it's no reason to be nasty towards another researcher. So he doesn't like adaptation. Big whoop. I think it's fantastic. The world would be a big and boring palce if we all just agreed all of the time.

No, me and Blues Shark go way back.
I'm sure he knows I'm just winding him up.
He's a top bloke at heart

Different strokes, it takes, different strokes, it takes different strokes to move the world!!
I didn't see The Sixth Sense twist coming a mile off!
Or The Village! I know the majority of people did, but I've watched it again since and just can't see any clues?

No, I didn't see the Village coming either. They had been very clever to subvert any expecttaions of a 'twist' in the advertising. Especially as Signs didn't have one

Elephant... a great movie, but each time you know what is going to happen they will change the story to someone else, until the same moment, until mayhem breaks loose....
