Was dragged kicking and screaming to the Revenge of the Sith by my sons and daughter, got to say that it's the only Star Wars film that I've managed to watch to the end. Also saw Ronin for the first time on TV this week, great slice of action cinema and great european locations.

"got to say that it's the only Star Wars film that I've managed to watch to the end"
Is that including the original trilogy? I'd say that RotS is the best of the three recent ones (although Anakin's change of heart was unconvincing to say the least). But the three old ones have a much lighter feel to them, much easier to watch. Evenin the new trilogy, some of the best bits are the comic moments with r2d2 and c3po (NOT Jarjar).
The last movie I saw in the cinema was Kingdom of Heaven. It was all right really. Pretty entertaining, though no classic in my opinion. There were some bits in the plot about Christian extremists screwing it up for the rest of the population, which I liked. The ending was a bit dull though.

Yea, the original Star Wars trilogy was memorable simply because everyone seemed to be having a really good time together. Not so Liam, McGreggor and Princess Amydooda. I hope never to be trapped in a lift with any of them.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith... got home about 1/2 and hour ago... Good flick. It's the first movie I've seen since Garden State where I left feeling like I'd actually like to see it again!

J-Lo *can* act, as she proved more than adequately in the briliant (and very under-rated) Out Of Sight. That she chooses not to is the point.
Owing to bit of a binge on Las Vegas themed movies I've watched both versions of Ocean's Eleven recently - I enjoyed the Clooney one much, much more than I did the first time, and the Sinatra one is really cool in a way only the rat-pack could be.
Laughed my s off at Team America (America! F*ck Yeah!) last night, what a hoot. Also adored Morgan Spurlock's corruscating and scandalous Super-size Me.

Saw "White Noise" on DVD. Liked it better than I thought I would, it's true that Michael Keaton goes through the entire film furrowing his brow alarmingly, stopping only to reprise his Batman role and to exchange the Bat-signal for a TV screen, but it's very atmospheric and apparently on the extras is a chapter on how to contact the dead in your own home. Can't wait.

Watched "Team America" again and didnt find it as funny as the first time so it drops below the level of some of my real favourite comedy films like "Duck Soup" "life of Brian" "Meaning of Life" "the Pink Panther" which I find as funnny over and over again.
I wonder how "League of Gentleman" will stand up to this test I watched it at the cinema and from first to last it had everything the TV show had and much more. The plot allowed for more comedy tangents to be followed especially the interactions of the characters with reality and the writers poking fun at themselves and their creative skills.
I think I'll leave it about a year though before I watch it again.

Revenge of the Sith and Sin City.
RotS was the best of the prequels and if you have a rainy afternoon to kill I would recommend it. Sin City, however, kicks the crap out of Sith. It is excellent, and you will never see Lord of the Rings in the same way again

I agree about the Pink Panther films, BB
I'm literally on my way out the door to the Senior Screen.
Choice of films:
Millions
A Good Woman
The Pacifier
I've not seen any of them so I'll make a decision on the way there
(2 of them roll over to next week so it'll probably be Millions)

Saw "Millions"
It had just the right amount of childhood innocence, growing-up angst, parental loss, jump-out-of-your-seat shocks (one) and an angle on Heaven that I never considered before.
I could pick holes in the plot but I really enjoyed the film and if you get the chance to see it, do - I enjoyed it but I didn't take a hanky and that *was* a mistake.

I'd heard Millions was good and I've been meaning to see it for ages.
Saw Sin City the other day and it was superb, easily the best film of this or last year

Watched Deep Blue Sea on dvd, for about the third time.
It's still a great dumb-ass monster movie. No great thinking required, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun.

Saw Sin City last week. One of my ex-girlsfriends saw it in the USA ages ago and told me I'd love it. And since she knows me better than I do she was absolutely correct. I was muchly impressed by it... Best thing that I've seen Mickey Rourke in since Angel Heart.
Finally got around to watching 'Quills' a short while ago. Only took 5 years. But also a stunningly sexy & subversive film; slickly made, well performed and fine fodder for the mind.

Watched 'Battlefield Earth' the other night on telly.
It now vies with 'Dreamcatcher' for the worst film ever made!!!

on the subject of Team America, I'll try to make this post moderator friendly so here goes: my two favourite lines:
"Surprise! C***-**gs!"
&
"J**** *****-******* ***ist!!!"
Sin city - an amazing film. Marv's story remains by far my fvourite. I've never much cared for Dwight so the middle lagged a little for me, however TYB redeemed itself superbly - Nick Stahl as Junior is just unsettling.
Key: Complain about this post
