I've watched The Bourne Ultimatum (which was?) and Die Hard 4.0: both humdrum. Goodbye Bafana which is excellent on a bewildering number of levels and Black and White which, ignoring Robert Carlisle's dubious Aussy accent, is also damn good.
I saw Transformers which is f**king pooliscious. I also saw The Simpsons Movie which is kind of stilted and odd but with a few good moments.
I seem to returned to my addiction to trying to understand Primer as well. I think I'm approaching my first seen it triple figure times movie
I'm not giving up

Saw Stardust today - absolutely loved it!
Robert de Niro was superb as the "woopsie" lightning-pirate-boat-captain.
Lovely cameos from Walliams, O'Toole, yon ancient Irish bloke, Kelly.
Loved the 7 ghostly brothers applauding the fighting sequences from the sidelines.
And was in absolute tears when my favourite song of the year - Take That's Rule the World - played over the closing credits, the lyrics fitting so perfectly I wonder if it was written specially for it.

just saw Enchanted. We had to watch it in German, but it was fantastic, something for us all to enjoy (especially the mums in the audience ) and I think I'll probably get it on DVD, if only to hear the original dialogue either side of the songs.

I'd like to fly the flag for a flawed classic... Watched little Nicky again last night. I love that film! The metal heads are a little too realistic sometimes for my liking but essentially, a fantastic film on plenty of levels. so long as you dont want anything intellectual. But come on, it proves that Chicago is evil!!!!

I took Andrew to see Enchanted yesterday (he'd been nagging me for days...) it was and better than I expected. We all need a little magic in our lives, lucky them!
Stardust is also one I'll be happy to purchase

Very odd movie called "Perfume: The Story of A Murderer.
A sumptuous treat for the olfactory senses for the epicureans amongst us.
A bleak, sometimes humourous tale of orphans perfumery, felicide, cannibalism and serial killing in 18th century France.
The ending is a hoot and thought it's not a classic it's certainly entertaining, but very, very odd.
Clive.

I quite enjoyed that one too. I was expecting to be grinding my teeth the whole way through the film as I love the book. That said, I was expecting to be grinding my teeth all the way through the book because, literally judging it by it's cover, I thought it was going to be a girlie nostalgia fest.
If you're into oddness check out 'Save the Green Planet' rates at -existential breakdown on leaving the cinema- on the freaky-o-meter.
Perfect Blue does that too.
What's that french film starring possibly what's'er name Binoche, that has no real plot/narrative/temporal structure whatsoever? And nazis if I remember right.
Psychocandy? You'll know. Help me.

Shrek 2 was on free TV tonite, my wife really likes the Antonio Banderas character "Puss In Boots" (not in the original). A swashbuckling Zorro-type sword fighter, but big misty eyes when he wants something.
Princess Fiona: Shrek?
Puss-in-Boots: For you, baby, I could be.

Juliet Binoche is her name. Do you mean Caché? (Also known as Hidden)

I don't know I can't remember.
Does it make sense? The film I'm thinking of deliberately doesn't make sense. The whole film is like the end of Blazing Saddles.
How many musicals are there featuring Nazis at some point?

Herr Der Diebe... er... the Thief Lord. It's a family film, set in Venice and it's gorgeous.

We finally managed to watch Lost In Translation last night - it's taken us a month to get round to it.
It really wasn't worth the wait.

Steve K, those melting-pool eyes are in Shrek 3 too
I took Andrew to see "Golden Compass" yesterday, way too LOTR for my taste but Andrew loved it. Nicole Kidman gets better-looking everytime I see her, but she doesn't have that scary-factor likewho was Cruella de Vil? Glenn Close or Meryl Streep? I can never tell them apart casting Kidman as a villain didn't cut it for me. Loved the armoured polar bears thoughand feisty little Lyra.
Glad I'm not the only one suffering moments
