Women who just don't like sex?
abbi normal "Putting on the Ritz" with Dr Frankenstein Posted Sep 22, 2004
I think 2.5 times a week is an odd average too.
Just guessing ,using 2.5 I'd guess;
2.5 a day sounds right for lust, early on couples, and high sex drives
2.5 times a week > a compromise for some, those with children and free time, or busy but very interested folks
2.5 a month > super busy, particular, in some isolation, lots of responsibilty or maybe later in life
2.5 times a year or less > not rare probably
*Broad generalities*

It is precisely that. An Average. Based on statistics taken from a large sample. This does not mean that everyone should (whatever that means) be having sex 2.5 times a week - if they did so, the average would increase. It also doesn't mean that you should have sex twice, and then start once more but stop halfway through. </

Well, depending on your point of view I suppose...I'm sure there's some ladies out there who notice that the bloke stops just as they're getting started! (Not that this has ever happened to me, of course, as every woman I have ever known has been fully and completely satisfied...)

I thought the 0.5 was for oral only, and that 1.0 was for the full deal.
Warning geek joke ahead:
Or maybe its a version number, maybe most people have 'Sex 2.5' (available now from Microsoft), with some still on 2.0 or even 1.0, while others use the experimental 3.0 beta, (which crashes all the time) and of course others are using Apple's OSeX.

I think Ive come to a conclusion but its more likely a theory.
Women can, and do go off sex based on their cycles but my thought for going off sex in a relationship is this; Everyone does it differently and while sometimes what your partner is doing can blow your mind (hopefully not literally as it takes ages to get brain matter out the curtains) occasionally they just don't push the right buttons. If you either don't talk about it for whatever reason or your partner doesn't take into account what you've said then you will continue to an unfulfilling sex life and end up laying their like a sack of spuds.
Personally, I'd prefer to boil my own head then have sex that doesn't get me off. Its not all about the orgasm either, although they are very welcome when they arrive, you dont have to climax to enjoy sex.
If too much emphasis is put on the orgasm then the chances of reaching one are reduced. Sex is meant to be a fun, enjoyable experience but so many people get so stressed out about it.
If my partner doesn't listen to my sexual needs and at least try to adapt their method to meet my desires then I'd prefer to read a good book or watch a film than go through the whole messy, moaning routine.
And thats my bizarre ramble that Im hoping makes sense.......

Oh If only everyone thought like that, what a better place the world would be. Sadly there are too many people who think that sex is for procreation only and anything else is corrupt, immoral or dirty.
If that was meant to be the case, why is it that we humans have such a capacity to enjoy sex if only we would allow it to happen.

But those are the *good* bits!
Joking aside, I have come to the conclusion that my mind is so broad that it meets at the back. However there remain two sexual practices between live, consenting adult humans that I find even the thought of profoundly disgusting.
One is having sex with someone who has no sense of humour, and with whom you cannot laugh.
Moving gently on:
Is there a difference between libido and response?

I believe - from various conversations - that I'm not unique in feeling that the oral bit (giving, rather than receiving) is often more appealing than 'the full deal'.
Does anyone want my phone no?

Actually, thinking about it, isn't the test of a relationship not how good the good sex is, but how good the bad sex is? We all have off days, times when Tab A is a little fast on the trigger or shy of the light; perhaps slot B needs a little more oil; maybe knobs D & E aren't optimally knurling. The test is how you handle that.
The best relationships I have had, have all - just once in a while - included some of the least impressive sex of my life.

Or as I mentioned before, how being sexual together doesn't *always* have to end up with 'doing it'. Because, especially in long-term relationships, there often isn't the time (nor the inclination) to go the whole hog each time one touches their partner in a sexy manner.
So, for example, while I am typing here on hootoo, if my heart's desire comes up behind me, cups my breasts in his hands and kisses me on the back of the neck, I don't need to feel - eek, we have to f**k now! Rather, it's just a nice little sexy interlude 'to be continued . . .'
I wonder how many couples don't display overt sexual behaviour together *unless* they are about to 'do it'.

Now there's a question wherein lies many answers, I suspect.

That could be a factor in some women not enjoying sex.
From talking to guy friends, it appears that a large number only do the 'overt sexual behaviour' when they want to get their end away but when it comes to foreplay they don't have a clue. Im not saying all guys because I know thats not the case but maybe if more attention was payed to warming your girl up then the sex would be better for both parties.
On saying that, some women also need to learn this, that a snuggle and a kiss isn't the code for 'get your kit off, I wanna jump your bones!'
That's a good point Az, when did a grope and snog automatically mean you had to jump into the sack?
Bring on groping and snogging just because you can!!
