For years I did'nt notice the ritual of different topics every day at the front page.
These days I often look at it and in some cases it happens to be relevant for what I already had written in my personal diary and so paste it at the website of that day.
Yes, it's functional to me and for me.
Greetings from Amsterdam.

How odd!
The subject of today's top article, George Archer-Shee, was my great-great uncle.

I would like to see a topic (not here) where we get an insight about the "condition" of H2G2.
Changes in participants and age.
Talking points that hardly are visited.
Behavior of researchers, like the question; "are there more/less entries written than before?"
And of course there'll be a change over the years anyhow, and I'd like to be able to read about that; how many in beginnning and how that number changed every two years or so.
And that nationalities.
Yes, that interests me, because I like the non fiction part of h2g2.
Greetings from Amsterdam,
born in 1955 in The netrelands.
Participating H2G2 since 2001

There's some fol-de-rol on in the Archer-Shee camp at the moment, over the appropriate inheritor/s (of which I'm potentially one) of some paintings that George's brother, Lt. Col. Sir Martin Archer-Shee, left behind when he died, seventy years ago. Their grandfather, another Sir Martin Archer-Shee, was President of the RA.
I've been advised not to give up the day-job though.

Sorry Eds, I think that would have to go in a different article entitled "The Decades-Old Festering Enmities That Still Exist Among The Progeny Of The Brother Of The Winslow Boy."

So how do you add your personal space to The Front Page? And btw, I have finally convinced my youngest daughter Kylie to join hootoo... Her username is Hermoine1, so please watch out for her and make her welcome, which I am sure you all will do happily. I have three other children whom I am trying to convince to join as well, plus 9 grandchildren who hopefully will join progressively. Then I will be able to have a Sir Peeb dynasty....
Today hootoo, Tomorrow the World!!!...We Shall Conquer as Geordies..

*gathers himself*
A little more helpfully, to get on the front page you just say 'Aye' in this 'ere thread.

Why Aye, Man. Although I am a transplanted Geordie living in Australia, my children and grandkids maintain the Northumbrian bloodline....
