Ah, ... I've never heard of a short-form for 'Derek'. Now I know another UK'ish/foreign notion. As to that Navy term, I still don't issue it ... As stated in post #250.

Just shows how insular us Brits are. Only Fools And Horses is a huge part of our culture but there's no reason why it should mean anything to anyone that wasn't in Britain during the 80s.
