It tastes very strongly of blue carucao (or whatever it's called) and is so disgustingly sweet that I had to down to s very quickly afterward to get the taste out of my mouth !

now I know enough to say
most unpleasant alcoholic experience I had recently was a bottle of Muscadet. That was all sweet and yukky and to think I liked the stuff about 20 years ago

I can't deal with overly sweet drinks...or overly creamy drinks...which is why I prefer to stick to beer and basic spirits

whenever I'm out for a meal and people start on the Irish coffees and the like I always just have a brandy
why ruin a perfectly good drink and a perfectly good by mixing them
mind you if we ever took Lampost out drinking it would have to be to a cocktail bar as the only things that have tempted her so far have been pretty colours and little umbrellas

That's a perfectly sound answer...although I have found that, when making coffee at home, Irish cream will always substitute nicely for milk...
...that's just the kind of girl I am...always running out of milk but bound to have alcohol in the house
I don't even know what girls drink....most of the girls I know drink vodka or those girly fizzy drinks......

but a lot of men drink
mind you I did when I was about 16 but that was because it was a cheap way to get drunk

Aye, I know boys who drink ...the way I figure it is, the more people I know who drink things I won't, the safer my drink is in their presence !

thats a good policy
pubs aren't usually too bad but parties can be a nightmare, all the good booze goes and at 4:00 AM all thats left is cider or a really cheap sweet white wine

I believe that's why we used to call it "pop wine"!

PS: back to the topic -- I have to hide EVERYTHING! Fortunately, not too many cool people have me on their itinerary.

I must admit I never went through a cheap wine stage...but then I was only at uni for a year....
...but if all the people know you, surely they are aware that all of your music is ?

if I'm drunk enough to drink it I probably won't remember it the next day but I've also developed cunning
now its something for the party and a small bottle of brandy for the wee small hours
that and my paranoia about running out of cigarettes means that I usually become very popular by the wee small hours

It should all be in a time capsule, I believe....
Beatles (but not their whole catalogue!), Stones, Who, Tracy Chapman, Lyle Lovett, Bowie's very first album, Ashleigh MacIssac, ... ya know, there's a pattern here -- almost no American stuff!!
I think the most recent stuff I have is a couple of charity-release compilations from the very late nineties ..... and it's Counting Crows, Dishwalla and Common Sense type stuff, from a now-defunct aternative station I used to love.
Ahhhh, most recent CD (just checked) is a local artist named Sean Wiggins -- and I KNOW none of you have heard of her!
This is ridiculous!! I listen to fairly recent stuff, I just don't buy it. But if I did, it probably wouldn't be very cool. Sigh.

Hmmm. Beatles, Stones, the first Bowie album (crazy eyes and all), Tracy Chapman, Ashleigh MacIssac....a couple of charity-release CDs from a now defunct aternative station I used to love, from the extremely late 90s. My late husband's old Firesign Theatre albums (yes, ON VINYL!).
I think the most recent CD I have is by someone local named Sean Wiggins, and I'd be shocked if any of you have heard of her....

you're right I haven't heard of Sean Wiggins but all the rest sounds pretty decent
I gave up listening to new music (except when its by someone I know or someone says listen to this its really good) about 15 years ago so you're keeping up better than me
1 thing I need is a decent 2nd hand record player
I've got boxes of lps in 1 of my cupboards

oops! Sorry for the double post -- H2G2 said page not available when I posted the first, so I repeated.
And I confessed to my musical faux pas twice!!

MOST of my collection is on vinyl and finding a new turntable is a nightmare! They cost more proportionally than they did when vinyl was the only choice!
At first I just imposed on my friends to "please tape this, I don't have a turntable". Now my last turntable source is looking for someone with a turntable, just when it was time to ask him to burn me a CD instead!

It was either off, then, or it was actually Muscat, not Muscadet.
I don't have a recording of it, but last night I went to see the band so good they named it twice. And they lived up to expectations.
