On the subject of listing ingredients, any German smoked product (bacon, cheese, etc.) has 'rauch' (smoke) on the list of ingredients.

And also, they are allowed to use vague terms like "spices" and "flavoring".

This just in:

Komodo dragons are venomous.

A team at the University of Melbourne discovered that the venom is an anticoagulant and contains compounds that lower blood pressure and induce shock as strong as those in the deadliest snake venom, that of the Taipan.

I'm categorizing this as "useless" since it has erroneously been widely believed that toxic bacteria in the mouths of Komodo dragons *acted* as a venom.

So whether their bites are venomous or filled with toxic bacteria you don't want to get bitten by a dragon.

Only one person in recorded history has been struck by a meteorite (or any extraterrestrial object)*: Ann Hodges of Oak Grove, Alabama, U.S. at 2:46 pm, 30 November, 1954.

*That is unless some of my coworkers at the Johnson Space Center have had an impromptu moon rock fight after hours that they haven't reported.

There's only been the one and she was in her house at the time. It went through her roof.

There have been a few television characters that were hit by satellite debris. Maggie's boyfriend on Northern Exposure and the main character, Georgia Lass on Dead Like Me.

I believe there was also a person who was hit by a meteorite as it went through the windshield of their car, and hit them on the finger. Pictures exist of the car I believe. Also someone once stood under a tree when it apparently was hit by a tiny meteorite, which then proceeded to fall down onto their head.

Apparently, a Lowestoft woman may have been hit by a meteorite while hanging her laundry.

And here's a pic of a car but I don't think it's the same one you mention. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap021118.html

Well, now there are two confirmed cases plus the possible third in Lowestoft.

Many analog watches have a "TACHYMETRE" around the bezel yet the great majority of these are owned by people who have no idea what it is or how to use it. (The user guides that come with these watches rarely mention the Tachymetre).

I'm 42 years old and I just learned. smiley - biggrin

I assume it refers to tachyons, and is somehow used when time travelling.
