How do you wake up?
Orange county LJ, nighthoover hunter extraordinary Started conversation Sep 23, 2003
Automatically, with no need of artificial 'waking devices'.
Alarm clock?
Clock radio?
Hi-fi set on alarm function?
Wrist watch?
other?

How do I wake up?
Generally in a very bad temper...
Don't even think about talking to me until I've had at least a pint of coffee!

Just normally. Unless I have something important to do - then it's alarm clock. >
On a related note, by far the nicest way to wake up, is a kiss on the back of the neck and a reverse snuggle.

How do I wake up, not very long after going to bed. tireder than when I went to bed. Normally waking as a result of hearing the radio of my lodger, though I often fail to hear that and sleep in till whenever I wake unless I've something to do of importance, in which case I set an alarm on my alarm clock, an alarm on my wrist watch, and an alarm on my old wrist watch.

Unfortunately, as my waking time alternates weekly, between 06:00 and 08:00, I have the Hi-Fi Audio set, my radio alarm set, and an alarm clock. If I miss these or it is my day off , I awaken at 11:00, or 10 minutes either side . I am also with Whisky, I have 3 pints of coffee before work just to kick-start the system.

Very reluctantly, with much sotto voice cursing.
I have an alarm clock, given to me by my ex g/f which beams the time onto the celing. It is the best alarm clock i've ever had.
I used to have a radio alarm but Radio 1 became too harsh in the morning, and CD's aren't interesting enough.
Oh, and need some before I can face the day.

For some reason, we keep getting "mini" power cuts at night so this cocks up the alarm clock.
Hence my mobile phone comes to the rescue every morning! That alarm clock ain't 'alf loud!
oh, and at 6.15 in the morning I'm my head off, and if you dare speak to me.......on your head be it!

Depends... if I've got nothing to do, normally I wake up when the room gets bright and I'm no longer tired (ie, naturally). This doesn't happen much as I'm a very light sleeper and wake at the slightest noise unless sick or absolutely exhausted. If I've got something to do, I set my alarm clock and normally wait through one snooze cycle before actually dragging my carcass out of bed. And then it takes copious amounts of caffienated beverages to get me up to normal speed.
And I'm in agreement with poster #3... that is a lovely way to wake up.

It takes me an ocean of coffee in the morning before I can pretend to be coherant, or coordinated, I've lurnt the hard way not to try anything that requires too much coordination first thing in the morning, as I useually end up injuring myself or breaking something

I usually wake up by my alarm, although having to wake up at 5.15 each morning for work means that even at weekends I now wake up before 6am WITHOUT the alarm!!
I used to live with a mate who would set his alarm for an hour and a half BEFORE he needed to be up, just because he used to like setting the alarm for snooze 8 or 9 times before actually getting out of bed. I tried to explain to him that surely an hour and a half's proper sleep would be better for him but he carried on anyway. Just a shame he had the room next to mine really!!

We have a radio alarm, so I'm normally woken by some luminary of Radio 4 talking about death and disaster or attempting to grill a politician. It used to be Classic FM but somehow waking up to Whatsisface being as chirpy as a canary on acid and playing Vaughan Williams used to turn me into a homicidal maniac that no amount of tea could pacify and I would lurch off into the traffic every morning growling and snarling and taking swipes at passers-by. Now my partner (who leaps out of bed at the first syllable) knows to put the kettle on when he hears me bellow "Answer the question, you oily little weasel!"

i normally use my alarm to wake up
though if there isn't anything to important then i leave the alarm off and think that i want to get up at a certain time before going to bed and i norm wake up 5-15 minute either side of it normally before.
unfortunatly i got no one to wake me up with a kiss 'n' a cuddle
