I would suggest therefore that you read the House Rules
I'm sure it says in there about not offending people...a WRITTEN rule I think you'll find
I think you will also find that the majority of what you have posted has offended a lot of users

I find it hard not to offend people.
Then again I'm not being racist, sexist, or prejudiced in any way. Merely being observant of a section of society I was around. I have repeatedly made a point of saying that I know there are exceptions to the rule.
Maybe you and your fellow LD-ers should take a look at what you have all said to me.

OK, I like that. Although why I would like to be compared to an elderly lady I don't know.
One thing, though. I know nothing about LDers other than what I have gleaned from this thread, and I live thousands of miles from you. But what I have noticed is that you seem to use the txt language and slang in a very cliqueish way. For instance, when the last two replys to me were posted, they were gramatically correct and spelled properly. All I am saying is, since you *can* do it, why don't you in general conversations?

Saturnine Posted Jul 26, 2003
Cool. Should I do that to you, or would you like to stand alone in alerting the moderators?

Excuse me! but you have been PREJUDICE, against Ex LDers, you have also been rude and offensive.

David Conway Posted Jul 26, 2003
What's that smell?
Oh. It's the stench of bigotry and smug self-defined social superiority, trying to place a group of people into "second class citizen" status.
"Watch out for them. They're not like us, you know."

Nope. Merely made a judgement based on my own extensive experiences.
And so far, you have proved me right.

I would suggest that you have broken the first two House Rules:
No Flaming/Trolling (being mean spirited).......you have undoubtedly upset people with your comments
Defamatory.....in the respect that you called Ex LDers "dregs of the earth"...you picked on a singular "type" of people, regardless of whether you're saying it only applies to a certain few....in fact you posted that it DIDN'T apply to ONLY 2 users....
Perhaps you'd like to go take a look at the House Rules for yourself

No. I just referred to TWO individuals I hold respect for.

I walked into the middle of a flame war, I thought. Can we just all shake hands and go to our separate corners?
I have no opinion as to the character, class, or ability of any of the LDers. My argument was simply that cliquishness and posts that need translation are not needed or appreciated anywhere here, especially when I see other posts that are perfectly legible by the same people. Fair enough?

~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Jul 26, 2003
I'm not in the habit of using text-talk (only on my mobile) and i think you'll find that a large percentage of LDers no longer use text-talk either.

A lot of people in general use the "txt speech", it's part of society in general now, not just reserved for "chat" sites
As for it not being used in general conversations, well the "smilies" are a form of "txt speech" surely....."G" (Grin), smiley equivalent < biggrin >...LOL (laugh out loud) smiley equivalent < laugh > "BH" (big hug) smiley equivalent < hug >
A lot of users join h2g2 and need to get used to how other interact in this environment....so surely we should be encouraging them to join in and not make them feel "alienated" in any way

Jinty is the name of "Brora", it wasn't meant as a knock against yourself

and wrote off any other Ex LDers as "scum of the earth"
DEFAMATORY
if you're not sure what you posted, then may I suggest you read the backlog

*I* have proved you right?
I checked, because I couldn't really believe that you wrote those words in response to my own. You did.
How could I, who have never had anything to do with Leisure District, have proved you right in any of your opinions about the people who have?
You've made a generalization and attempted to mitigate it by saying that there are some exceptions. That still sounds like pretty much any bigot I've encountered.
