Deficiency of LADH stems from the oriental practise of boiling water to make it safe, whereas the European's brewed it up into alcohol to kill germs...

I always liked that scene in Fawlty Towers, where the Major is telling a story about a girl he knew once in India, who made some remark about the local n******s.
"You mustn't call them n*****s! These are w**s!"

As my name is Wai-Gong one of my nicknames is Wog, or Woggy. So my mates often get some very dodgy looks when they shout 'WOG' at me to get my attention...

A place for everything and everything in its place...that quote of the majors, one I'd forgotten, says more about the Empire and how it was built than any number of documentaries...

In other words- they made tea, we made beer. Suddenly I'm even more glad to be British
Dave (whom you've meet Blues) nickname is Fairy - that gets some shocked looks when I scream, !Oi, Fairy, get your arse over here".

Dammit. I missed the chance to flame.
That person blatently was a racist : simply for his/her narrow view on what a race is..."blacks and whites"
Anyway. I have a mixed race cousin (who consequently looks as white as white could be right now, except for his nose, bless him) and as far as I know, he hasn't sprouted a third leg... Like Hoo said (and if I had been here, I would have made the point)...breeding outside the norm strengthens the gene structure. The point of sex is to find the most *different* other DNA pattern to ours, to create a combination that has not been in existance before, and therefore has less chance of sucuumbing (sp?) to existing diseases...
Let's hope the person that started the thread doesn't come back. Devil's Advocate does not mean to say you get to be just plain thick at the same time. I don't particularly want to come across racists on this site. One fundamentalist Christian is enough for me.

Everyone is very quick to condemn PYT. He asked a question. He clarified what he meant.
You might not like the question, but just going on the questions in this thread, I can't see some foaming Nazi. (I admit I've not looked at anything PYT has said elsewhere.).
What I do see is someone lacking information. Well, if he wants it, it's here.
I hope he DOES come back. I want to see what his reaction is to the scientific fact of the desirability of cross-genetic breeding. I'm also quite interested to know what all you libertarians out there would have to say if breeding within your own ethnic group was banned on safety grounds... (steps back from hornets nest and throws stick away)

Well the question has to be asked : what logical person still thinks about interracial relationships?
Not me.
Perhaps not a foaming Nazi, but definitely someone who lacks sufficient brain matter...
Hoo, why ask the last question? Doesn't make sense to me. First of all, it would be a breach of human rights. No one has a right to dictate who you have children with. Secondly, what is my ethnicity? I am white, yeh sure. But what branch of white? I could be anything. It depends how detailed you'd like to go. I find it increasingly difficult as I get older, to class people by their colour/race/whatever...if I had to start choosing people based on that fact, I would give up, and become celibate.

Not a problem. AS long as they don't ban *practicing* for breeding...

Yes Purdy asked a question, people politely asked for it to clarrified which Purdy did, which only made it sound more imflammatory

Saturnine Posted Apr 24, 2003
Which of course it was, because he only mentioned two ethnicities...the typical narrow viewpoint of a racist. Black and white.
What about Chinese, Indian, Polynesian (sp?), Iranian, Vietnamese, Native American, Jewish?
If it was a devil's advocate question (ie : with some resemblance of intelligence behind it) there would have been an expansion on the original statement, possibly with a link to a non-biased newpaper article. There wasn't, so we can only derive our opinion from what was and wasn't there.

Very judgemental again S9
The person in question _might_ have been posting the question as they are involved with someone of another race and have had a bad experience on another website due to racism for all we know... Let's try and avoid jumping to conclusions shall we

Saturnine Posted Apr 24, 2003
Judgemental? And...? I always judge. It's the nature of being human. But that's not through stupidity, it's through logic. I didn't say there couldn't be another explanation.
And if they did have a bad experience on another website and are looking for clarification from a bunch of strangers for their personal relationship, then they might want to go and think about what they consider to be important. If they *can* think for themselves at all...

'It's the nature of being human.'
That maybe, which is why we have social rules to allow us to all get along as best we can...

I suspect, Sat, that you've taken PYT's phraseology a little too literally - I hope that he wasn't meaning simply those of African origin and those somewhat laughably referred to as Caucasian. Black and White was simply an example.
I could be wrong but I sincerely hope I'm not.
What's more, PYT hasn't had a chance to answer the questions sent in his/her direction ... it could be that English isn't their first langauge and it was just a grammatical error ... who knows.

Lots of people use h2g2 to elicit advice on their relationship problems. Sometimes they take the advice. If not, they usually say it's helpful anyway to talk things through with people who are objective, because they are removed
