Considering that we haven't had any so far and even PYT hasn't been seen in days, I, personally, don't think they would feel comfortabe around a bunch or raving Liberals. Besides, from what I have seen of their ability to argue intelligently without resorting to offensive and racist outbursts, they'd be Yikes'd without us having to worry about it. I do not hold with sweeping it under the carpet.

Changing it to something milder is MORE likey than less to attract them.

As I said before, if you don't feel comfortable with the topic, you are free to start another conversation with a more soothing title. Again, the whole point is that, as offensive the title and the mentality that spawned it is, we are stronger than the words.

Perhaps it would help if you look at the definition of the words....

I like this definition best....

UltraLingua English Dictionary

Sure flies in the face of what PYT thinks of as "breeding".

oh, absolutely! '?' (is that really your nickname?)

In fact, there is nothing that could be called a 'pure race' of humans - we have all been mingling since adam and eve. So, stuff and nonsence.

If you are truly proud of your mixed genes you might like to place 'hnm' after your nickname - to explain this you would have to go back to somewhere around posting 200 or so to know what that means. Basically it's a big f**k off to the originator of this thread and showing that we are proud to be hippie nerdo mutts (which is what he called us).

If not for 'interracial breeding' we'd all be sitting up in trees playing the banjo. smiley - smiley

Actually, I think he called us "hippie nerdo mongrels" but it was downgraded to "mutts" on appeal.

Egon,

You're right - he did at first call us mongrels, but we 'upgraded' that to mutts as it sounded more cosy and cute.

ding-de-de-ling-de-de-ling-ding-ding!

Are you nuts? That's Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs! Totally amazing musicians! I'd feel honoured to have that rambling through my head.

Ever heard those two do Foggy Mountain Breakdown or the Orange Blossom Special? Sublime!

Yeah, but Orange Blossom Special is good whoever does it. Like Midnight Special and Rock Island Line, I'm not convinced it's humanly possible to do a crap version.

The theme from "Deliverance" is quite appropriate on a number of levels for this conversation.....

Well, that wasn't what I was thinking of, but that makes it even more appropriate. I think this ought to be our theme song.

We used to have neighbours who looked like the hillbilly boys in the movie.... Now THAT was scary.

That IS true Hoo, but a 'young' Jon Voight okay - you wouldn't want to look like he looks now smiley - biggrin

Quite right... he was decidely yummy when younger... Now he is just wrinkly. Not there is anything wrong with that if you are into wrib\nkly John Voights.

Point to ponder... Will you one day look like the Old John Voight?

I, look like a young Audrey Hepburn... If she was older, heavier, had had flat feet....

Ha! I bet a lot of us look like a young Audrey Hepburn gone amiss! I used to have Audrey Hepburnish upper arms, now they look more like the Spanish jamones you see hanging up here in all the bars . . .ho hum.

Jon Voight is not actually all wrinkly now - rather kinda puffy and florid faced. Hoo looks like the younger version.

Anyhow, Audrey is dead now, so you wouldn't want to look like her at all anymore . . .
