Wold should have been wild.
[The "i" and the "o" are next to each other, and my keyboard has whitelettering on a black background, plus there's glare from the screen, plus some of the lettering is wearing off ]

Don't worry about it Paul, I know the possible scenarios And numerous variations and/or explanations. It's a wonder that when typing the smiley I've never gotten 'biggroin' instead(I frequently inadvertantly roll a finger & end up hitting both r & t, b & n, a & s(or s & d), u & i, etc.

I'm sure almost everybody does typos, j_z_d, but I'm one of the ones that doesn't proofread before I click the "post" button. And even if I *do* proofread, I may not notice the glitches.

I use the preview feature to proofread, but still inevitably miss one(or two...or four)of the little scoundrels.

Computer designers really screwed up when they designed monitors that stand vertical. It's easier to read things that are horizontal.

I probably can't help suggest songs for that thread, sad to say. There are a lot of estimable Canadian singers and composers, but I usually only hear of them when they sing songs written or performed in the U.S. Robert Goulet in "Camelot," for instance. Rufus Wainwright's singing on the soundtrack of "Brokeback Mountain."
Glenn Gould, a Canadian was one of the most brilliant musicians ever to live, and he branched out from piano music to making recordings and television boradcasts, but I don't know if he ever actually wrote anything original.

Gould wrote some original stuff for radio -- but it wasn't really music.
Of on a tangent again: I'm having a bit of deja vu amusement lurking around the discussion over here F19585?thread=8287088&skip=140&show=20
Seems Scotland is becoming the Quebec of Britain.

Glen Gould fans should check out www.CBC.ca/Gould.
The CBC has made hours of his music and TV appearances
available online as part of their 75th anniversary.
Hope it works outside our borders.
Haven't had a chance to check it out myself yet but I am
told it has everything he ever did on CBC including a
couple of tribute shows and biographies.

Thanks for the tip about Gould, jwf! I plan to buy his CD recordings of the Bach "Well-tempered clavier," which I used to have on cassette. I can't order it right away, because my credit card is overextended this month due to car repair expenses.
February should be a good time forit, though.

>> Why an emu? <<
Who knows.
Emus are mentioned in the lyrics.
The emu image is one of the more interesting visuals
someone pasted together for that track posted above:

Most of the rest is just cute sleeping kittens, stacks of money
(real and Monopoly) and a very nice leather couch. There's a pair
of polar bears in there too that are staring into the camera in a
lost and quizzical way.
I just felt the emu was trying to tell us (me?) something.
Since it really has little to do with the point of the song
I was wondering why that particular image of an emu. It's
totally out of context perhaps, but part of the song.

There's a short story by Annie Proulx about a man who has to go back to his father's emu ranch in Wyoming because an emu has killed the father. Believe it or not, the story starts on that grizzly note and gets even more grizzly.
