Oh, PP,

If women are so bloody perfect at multitasking, How come they can't have a headache and sex at the same time?

You can call me TC

>>Interviews where the interviewer asks the interviewee a question and then starts offering answers or suggestions without waiting for an answer to be forthcoming.<<

ANY conversation where that happens. I like to think about what I am saying and formulate it carefully. That takes a second or two. And anyway YOU asked ME.

When customers phone up and ask a question and then hold a lecture, or, more often, a rant. Hang on - who wants information from whom here? Let me get a word in and I can tell you what you want to know.

PH: Getting a telling off at work for standing your ground and arguing back with a jumped up little s**t of a graduate who was potentially about to roll out some buggy code to the live server and was ignoring your questions about helping them fix it.

Apparently I'm partly to blame?!

Lateral epicondylitis - tennis elbow to the layman. I've had it for more than two weeks and I've read that it can last for months! I'm treating it with ice packs and ibuprofen, and I've had to give up most computer-based activities. Apparently only 5% of 'tennis elbow' injuries are caused by playing tennis. I don't know what I did to cause this, but it certainly wasn't racket sports.

Sounds like your supervisor is a bit of a pillock, Pastey... but then, they usually are in my experience, and that of just about everyone else. Makes you wonder how industry and commerce get through the day in one piece smiley - facepalm

Unnecessary complications being added to life under the guise of progress.

I have been forced to upgrade to an 'improved' version of Yahoo mail. I was quite happy with good old basic. And the new version won't run on my favourite simple little Linux netbook. It relies on too many added bells and whistles.

In old SciFi movies, the computers never seemed to have problems updating, they were just perfect forever. Sure, sometimes they locked you out in space to let you asphyxiate, but surely that's a small price to pay.

Gmail keeps doing that PP, and I think I posted somewhere in the backlogue (or maybe it was a tweet @gmail) about how when you you press the button telling them you don't want it you have to press another button saying "Okay, got it" smiley - cross

Websites that ask for an email address to log in instead of a user name. Whenever I have to do that it's a given that I'll either forget to add @gmail.com (sometimes I'll add @gmail but forget .com), or I'll use the password for the email account instead of the password for the site, and gradually get more and more smiley - grr because I keep entering it and I *know* it's the right password... just not for that website smiley - rolleyes

Here is a password trick that may not be the most secure but does me.

1 Choose a password word eg 'password'.

2 Use the first two letters of the website name eg 'h2'

3 Choose a number eg '123'

Put them together and presto a password that is as secure as most of us will ever need.

passwordhg123

For BBC. passwordbb123
For Yahoo. passwordya123
For cute cats. passwordcc123

And so on.

Funny way of spelling cute!

PH: shops that are having a closing down sale, promising 70% off the gorgeous looking clothes that you can see in the window, but cannot buy as they are shut for lunch.

PH: Closing down sales that last more than a year.

Actually, even more than a couple of months.

It also seems the rubbishy stuff that is reduced in these sales.

Is it just my imagination or are there usually just the less regular sized clothes such as XL or XXL in sales?

You're not imagining it, it's where I get most of my clothes smiley - laugh

Sho - employed again!

people who don't close up to the car at front at Traffic Lights - especially where there is a sliproad onto the intersecting road.

You don't need a 15 metre breaking distance WHEN EVERYONE IS AT A STANDSTILL smiley - grr

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

By contrast, people who close up to the car in front of them at traffic lights. You don't need to get within two inches of the car in front of you, you're only asking for a collision that way!

If you leave more than the thickness of a fag paper between you and the car in front when you're driving in London, whether you're moving or stationary, you're just asking for someone to cut in! smiley - yikes

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

Simple rule: If it's difficult for you to see and react to the tail lights of the car in front of you, you are too close.

Admittedly, when stopped, this doesn't matter so much, but still...

smiley - pirate
