That reminds me, I had pigeon for lunch on Saturday. Quite nice, but tasted a lot like liver without the texture.

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

The lack of proper news coverage on THE FREAKING NEWS!!!

Shocking news today: Hilary Clinton is now on Twitter. Marking the last frontier for the most traveled Secretary of State in America's history.

A disastrous tornado in Oklahoma leaves 57 dead.

And now we join Big Buddha, who's reporting to us live from a communal barbecue in the park.

PP, that looks to me like a collared dove. I like collared doves. We used to have a lot of them round where I live, but I only saw two last year. We have loads of wood pigeons, which I don't like as much. Their call is similar to that of the collared dove, but sounds harsher to me.

Hi CD.

Yep a pair of collared doves I think the plan was to nest there. Think again chaps. We have loads of them round here including one that seems to be picking at the same crack in the road surface at the end of my street EVERY time I come round the corner. It seems to know that I am going to slow right down and give it the chance to WALK SLOWLY to the verge.

I have yet to work out why it is so attracted to this particular bit of road.

He is called Colin.

Anna Siren- the heathen of the deep, according to iTunes...

CD, re your pain post of 3 weeks ago I hope you're feeling better now and now, it was literal- I'm still writing the damn thesis and there’s a constant lake of fire at the top of my spine and my shoulders now.

Mr603, I do actually live within eight yards of a cow. I drink Magners. Case closed.

PH is as follows: changing email providers (Hotmail to Gmail, it’s a pain) and changing ALL accounts with corresponding emails. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

PH 2: your mother trying to supervise your thesis. No. If I wanted that, I would have done business. I suggest she leaves Andrew to it!

PH: when you stop reading a long book (or long-running web comic in this case) for so long that you can't pick up where you left off, but you equally can't face going right back to the start again. smiley - groan

Deb

Having a quick, easy dinner which basically takes as long as the veg takes to steam because the rest is 2 minutes in the microwave. Getting everything ready to to coincide with the veg then at the last second realising you forgot to turn the cooker on at the mains so your brocolli has been gently steaming in rapidly cooling water. A bit too al dente for my liking smiley - rofl

People (often politicians) who smile unconvincingly while they're trying to make their point. Creepy.

Politicians constantly referring to 'hard working families' and forgetting that they also represent ordinary working families who are somehow less noble in their work.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I'll see your 'Politicians constantly referring to 'hard working families' and raise you 'Politicians constantly referring to 'the middle class' but never 'the working class'.

I'm working class and quite content with it. I have no desire to be middle class, but because of that I either don't matter or don't exist as far as politicians are concerned.

Atticus

"Politicians constantly referring to 'hard working families'...."

I find this an especially pernicious manipulation of language, designed to divide people into 'them' and 'us'. It also deepens the sense of disregard for those who are unemployed and therefore not 'hardworking'. In turn this entrenches the notion held by some that the unemployed are undeserving and lazy.

I have noticed that some news reports are picking up on this phrase and using it as an everyday term. The BBC has done this on at least one occasion.

I would advise not reading this if you are of a sensitive disposition.

Threefold this morning. I'm responsible for two of them but utterly refute any culpabillity for the first of them. Ever.

1. Nakedness impaired by socks. (And this includes pop socks).

2. The way my waist shape turns over the waistband of my underpants.

3. The way that on hot muggy days like yesterday, my chest shape creates two small damp crescents just underneath what would be my moobs if they get any bigger.

Warned you. smiley - laugh

I'm with you on number three. Went running the other morning and along with the usual back moistness on the t-shirt were two crescents on the front.

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

Lights. Every day, everywhere I go, there are lights. People are freaking addicted to lights. Even in my own rooms, where I can at least turn them off, lights from other rooms and outside still bleed through the door and window shades. It's bloody three in the morning and no matter what I do I still can't get away from the DAMN LIGHTS!!!

And on a similar note, sunlight is also highly overrated.
