Good idea - I'm off to run a bath. Only thing that'll be running around here for a while...

Atticus, most Blueray players and AV amps now have a thing called something like 'night mode', which digitally compresses the sound (makes quieter bits louder and louder bits quieter). Apparently as it's all done in the digital domain, it doesn't affect the sound quality the way analogue compressors often do.
I've switched this mode on and can't say I've noticed any effect- good or bad. Ho hum

Rod: can spell critic, yes. Thank you, must remember that. PH: being knackered yesterday after sleeping patterns have gone mad and only sleeping 6 hours out of the past 19. I went to bed at 8.30pm last night. It is now 3.48am and I am awake. WHY. D:

Multiplex cinemas where the sound is so loud in the neighbouring screen that it leaks into my film. And volumes in MY screen that are simply too loud too.

Anna - with you on the sleeping. Several people here at work are suffering at the moment. We are attributing it to the full moon, which was particularly prominent the past couple of nights.

Trillian: indeed it was (when I was on the bus on the way up to Polish class on Wednesday I saw the full moon rise and talk about a beautiful thing!) and I think I'm still suffering tonight tonight, argh.
Offtopic, what do people think of the new site? PH being that when I when to my conversations and clicked on the thread for this, I expected it to take me to the most recent reply... noooooooooooooo... damn you, website. I'm not sure what I think of it... I think I like it- that could change...
PH 2: Sarah Millican. God but she's a twit.

The moon was huge and orange when I went riding yesterday - maybe that's why my horse was playing tricks on me...

PH : People who hate Sarah Millican. She's Yummy.
pH2 : Admitting her voice does annoy though.

PH: the taped seams on my waterproof coat, which have come untaped even though I washed it according to the instructions - and the tape has shrunk, too, so it's pulled into odd wrinkles.

Seeing names of people in popular culture on H2G2 and not knowing who they are and having to look them up using Google.
And then realising that I know who they are after all.
Sarah Millican. Yep. She certainly LOOKS yummy.

PH: People who refuse to give Noohootoo a chance and don't even bother to offer constructive criticism about it.
(Also had to search for Sarah Millican... would...)

Sorry, Mr Dreadful. I shall continue to refrain from commenting about the new site. There's quite enough commenting going on already as it is, and it is becoming very repetitive.

Sarah Millican is so, so funny rofl
New h2g2 (sorry, H2G2) also took me to post one of about 9,700 so I had to go to the last post and count back nine posts.
And I suspect my rofl won't work judging from comments in other threads. Which means I won't be able to sign off in my usual manner either.
Post update: l didn't work but my cheerup did. I just tried to click on the full smiley index at the bottom of the page and every time I clicked undefined (with a pointy bracket either side of it) appeared at the end of my name. Strange.
Heyho. I'm sure eventually the new site won't be a petty hate. I'll either get used to it or it'll become so much more than petty that I'll have to go and find somewhere else to waste my lunchbreak.
Further post update: It accepted my post in preview but wouldn't post it because of some offensive content. I've removed all the pointy brackets except those around cheerup and now I'm trying again.
Yet another post update: Still offensive. So now I need to move the pointy brackets around cheerup and try again!
Deb cheerup (I removed the smiley from here) (this last cheerup was directly from the clickable smileys at the bottom)
It's still offensive. I'm going to remove that last cheerup, the one directly from their list. Wonder if that'll make any difference?
Key: Complain about this post
