I didn't even know that thread existed. Thanks
I'm off to read the back log and see if anyone has pointed out she has become a pastiche of herself yet

I don't get to see Nigella here. But the roast squash and blue cheese sounds interesting- I assume she has a web site. I'll have a look. Surely I can find something to substitute for the nuts.
Mr. Dreadful- a vegetative state doesn't quite count!
What's the ginger stuff, some kind of punch?

Sounds nice to me, without the pecans. It's similar enough to another recipe I make using squash that I'm sure it'd go over well.
Which brings me to another petty hate... people who host cooking shows, prepare all kinds of rich and buttery foods, and still retain a gorgeous figure.

Bosses who pretend to care but then ignore the fact you spent all morning in the toilet, have barely been capable of a hello let alone doing your job then act surprised when you tell them you need to go home...

I had a brief glance at the books in Asda to see if I could get some inspiration for the dreaded 25th. There on the shelf:
Sharon Osborne: Survivor
SURVIVOR?! What, did she lead a troop of orphans across the Sahara desert to safety? Did she rescue people from a burning aeroplane? No, she married a drug addict and got duffed up by him. If that's survival then I can get that story from Rita down the road, and she doesn't make a living humiliating ambitious naive kids on the telly.

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!" Posted Dec 12, 2007
The word "telly".
And when people constantly pressure to socialize with others. I just want to be left alone for crying out loud! Why is that so terrible?

Groob.... I believe at some point she has cancer.... I think.
And shes a highly astute business woman she doesn't NEED to do the x factor... come to think of it, we dont need to see the x factor..
my petty hate 'reality' tv and everything that might possibly fall into that category!

Popped in to the shopping mall en route to work this morning: only to find that that shops don't open till 9.
So kicked my heels and whistled in a melancholy fashion for 10 miutes until the chemist opened - only to find that they ahd no soluble aspirin
Is that not a bit pub-with-no-beer-esque?

DaveBlackeye Posted Dec 13, 2007
Yes. Talking of which, I was in a nice pub the other day that had an internet jukebox. No list of songs, you just search for what you want and it should be able to find it.
Except it didn't. It didn't have *anything* I searched for. After about 20 frustrating minutes, I resorted to searching for well-known bands I half-liked and plumping for whatever song it deemed to display. WTF is the point of that?

Oh, I dont know.. SO had her stomach stapled a couple of times and put up with her man stealing her dresses to go out on the piss...
.. And gave birth to Kelly
Jacks' alright though, give the little bugger a break, it's hard to be reasonably nice when you're a rich tart's kid!

Anna Siren- the heathen of the deep, according to iTunes... Posted Dec 13, 2007
Black Eyed Girl- yes, reality TV sucks; sure haven’t you read in the papers how parts of the X Factor are supposedly staged?
Kelly Osbourne- oh god I want to kill her! She’s taken over from Leticia on Radio 1 doing the Sunday Surgery on [you guessed it] Sunday nights, and while I don't have anything against the Californian accent (I love it and know she was brought up there, so she’s going to have something of it) I hate the way her voice weaves in and out of it; it drives me mad! And the [I feel somewhat] fake sincerity and crap… oh god kill me now. At least Jack does something worthwhile; what the hell does she do?

Give us a figure to, as a group, sneer at. Poor girl. She could be awesome but unfortunately, she's been brought up in and bought into that weird hollywood celebrity bullthingy lifestyle where being spoilt and of limited talents (come on, her old man, like it or not, had an AWFUL singing voice...) doesnt mean you cant do anything that seems like it might be fun!

>>>.. And gave birth to Kelly<<<
Well that thats a perfectly legitimate reason to call a book survivor! lol
AnnaElena153.... Nope, dont read the papers, its all far too depressing for me! I know whats happened in the world, everyone is being vile to each other! No need to buy a paper.
Although from being forced to watch it previously and seeing the best singers booted off, it wouldn't surprise me, its always the people who are the most commercially viable who win!

All I want for Christmas is the opportunity to slap SO reapeatedly! That little girl voice, the air of elegant martyrdom, the way she rewrites history to suit her purposes! The way she speaks to her husband as if he's a gibbering idiot. He's dispraxic(sp?) not stupid. He's sharper and funnier then she will ever be yet she treats him like a backward 5 year old because she's too sef absorbed to notice.
And relax!
Incidently, in line with the BBC policy of not slagging off 'personalities', if anybody asks I'm talking about a woman who lives just down the road! Honest.

DaveBlackeye Posted Dec 14, 2007
Yes. The woman down your road was on Graham Norton last night, having a right public strop about her female co-host on X-factor. It was most unseemly.
Actually, another petty hate of mine: Graham Norton. (The bloke I work with, you understand)

Oh yeah, I know the guy! I think he tries a bit too hard sometimes. Much prefer him to that cow of a neighbour of mine!

DaveBlackeye Posted Dec 14, 2007
I find him extremely tedious. Just being gay isn't funny any more.

I don't know if this miserable moany old fart has moaned about this yet but it really bugs me when they photoshop puss cats on cat food tins and on adverts in supermarkets. You know the ones - where they make them have a certain facial expression or make them look like they're smiling. The little critters are cute enough as it is and don't need any computer wizardry to make them more so!
Key: Complain about this post
