I love vegetables! As long as they're not overcooked soggy things, they cannae put enough of them on the plate As long as it's not at the expense of the meat/fish. If they're used as a filler and an excuse to put less meat on the plate, then i would class that as one of my petty hates.
But i can understand if you don't want them, and you didn't order them, it's just a waste

Tomatoes are really tasteless in this country and sent to Italy on holiday two years ago and found that their tomatoes are actually flavoursome.

winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Jun 2, 2006
Know what you mean. I actually remember when tomatoes last had taste here- about 15 years ago. You have to buy cherry tomatoes to get any flavour out of commercial tomatoes now
Growing your own is another option

I've moaned about this before but I like moaning so I'll mention it again
When you order a plate of chips in a chip shop they give you a nice big plate of chips. No complaints there. However, if you order a plate of chips - for the same cost - with a pie/burger they give you less chips to make way for the pie. THIS IS WRONG!

AlexoOo Posted Jun 2, 2006
Greedy! If the give you a pie, they probably think you will eat less chips!
My petty hate is overpackaging. (again). I bought a toy kitten for my niece. I had to put batteries in as they weren't included. It was packaged like they thought the thing was alive and would escape. Masses of sellotape and a ton of twiddly bits of plastic coated wire. Why?

Yael Smith Posted Jun 2, 2006
Oh, I hate the plastic coated wire! I once broke a bit of a toy my son got because I was pulling on the damn thing (wire) too hard!
Another annoying thing in the UK is that you have to wrap presents yourself, or pay for them to be gift wrapped. Sometimes they don't even take of the price label even though they've been told it's a gift. WHY???

I like wrapping presents Irealise I may be in a minority there though...
Petty hate for today, getting hundreds of tiny scratches on my legs without noticing, while tying up my roses, and then discovering the cuts when they all simultaneously started stinging when I got in the swimming pool

Uncontollable pumps
I hate these soap dispensers that push out a gallon of soap, whether you want that much or not. The one we have in our bathroom at present, dispenses enough soap to wash a family of 4. Some pumps allow you to press gently or slowely and release less, but not this one- all or nothing
I hate waste. Whatever was wrong with good old fashioned bars of soap. Use exactly the amount you need, lasts for weeks and next to zero packaging

Yael Smith Posted Jun 5, 2006
Soap in bars seems to dry your skin more.
And I hate wrapping anything, kelli, I'm awful at it, and you a present to look like... this!

Products that say 25% less fat.
Than what exactly?
P.S. I am 50% more intelligent!

Yael Smith Posted Jun 7, 2006
Hopefully less than what it had before...
And may I add- 10% extra discount only this weekend in ! Is the 10% coming off the original price, or the discounted price? I suspect the latter is more likely.

*wonders if I'm the only one who read 'name of a mouse retailer' in that post*

There was a thing used in advertising I moaned about a while back: The blah that everyone's talking about. "The Britney Spears song everyone's talking about". Er, yeah ok.
Now there's a new thing that bugs me: The blah of the year. The song of the year. The album of the year. The movie of the year. Anyone know where I can get one of these crystal balls that lets them see what the rest of the year's output will be like?

I was hoping that a kindly 80 year old lady would win a place in the Big Brother house. Instead it's more of the same - a publicity whore who bought 600 kit kats to try to win a place in the house and eventually was bought a £4000 ticket from her husband. I think they should drag people in off the street next year. Would be much more interesting

Yael Smith Posted Jun 12, 2006
What's wrong with mouse retailers?
Album of the decade is another one of those. Are you counting from 1996 or are you just foreseeing the future?
And then there's the abominable advert for Endowment Mortgages- if you don't claim, THEY win, YOU lose! How irritating is that?

"Oh yeah, and people who moan too much"
Yeah, they're poxy
The only complaint I have about England World Cup is when people say "It's all that fuss over grown men kicking a ball about" and then suddenly overnight become England's biggest fan when we reach quarter finals +
Key: Complain about this post
