I think I used Hollywood as 'film city', but actually the kind of films I meant weren't made there, except perhaps Lassie ! smiley - biggrin.

If you need a guide to what's veggie buy "The Animal Free Shopper".

The easiest and nicest way to eat veggie - is to eat vegatable. You know the stuff what grows in the ground. Cooking with real ingredients is simple, quick, cheap, healthy, rewarding and blimmin' tasty. Buy a good compliment of herbs and spices too.

Sod protien - most people eat too much of it, and if you're fond of beans you'll be getting planty (remember if you're not buying them tinned they may need soaking for long periods to be edible).

Keep your iron levels up to prevent anaemia - brassicas(cabbage / spinnach) and marmite.

And Vit B12 - the one thing you don't get in veg - but do in yeast, so marmite again.

The key to a ballanced veggie diet is eat lots and eat varied. Don't keep eating the same things. And eat fresh and in season.

Buy a pressure-cooker: beans from dry to ready-to-use in a matter of 20-40 minutes.

Plus, you can make brill veggie soup in 10 minutes flat, amongst other things.

I used to mnake my kids something called Red Dragon Pie.

Soaked aduki beans, cooked up with fried onions, and chopped carrots , a can of tomatoes ,some mitso, and soy sauce, adding a little plain flour to the mix to make a gravy and then top with mashed potato and grated cheese. Browned under the grill. They ate it ! The name helped smiley - biggrin

If you are including them in your diet Vegemite / Marmite is also exceptionally good on fried eggs.

Pressure cooking often overcooks a little for my liking. I always understood that some beans were poisonous without soaking and draining overnight. Is that not the case?
