Angus's replacement!
Chronicargonaut Posted Oct 30, 2002
Richard Whitely....laughs at his own rubbish jokes and remains stoney faced whenever someone else cracks a funny.

How's about... hmm... Sandy Tolgistsvistvist, or whatever her name is, I think she's married to Richard Whitely. Can be quite funny and was good on 'Call My Bluff'. Has a similar speech pattern to good old Angus as well.
Just a thought.

The Ghost of Polidari Posted Oct 30, 2002
How about Liam Gallagher? That would be interesting. Don't think the other two would make many jokes at his expense no matter what he's been up to in the papers...
Maybe John Bird or John Fortune?

You don't mean Sandi Toksvig (sp?) who is *definitely* not married to Richard Whitley.
She would be quite good I think

That's the one i mean! She would be quite good, shurely?

or Linda Smith - she's brilliant on News Quiz at times almost as surreal as Jeremy Hardy.
Mel and/or Sue anyone?
Ant and/or Dec 9that is if you can tell which is which)
Or maybe as Fame Accademy is so poor a Big Brther/Pop Stars type public selection process.

It'd be worth having Anne Robinson for one episode, or at least pretending to, as long as the reactions of Merton & Hislop when they heard the news were filmed - I'd love to see their faces.

Is linda Smith the one that sounds like Holly from Red Dwarf?
She is good too, although I think Sandi might do better as a host.

Potholer Posted Oct 30, 2002
Linda Smith could be excellent, though I think she's probably better answering questions than asking them.

Geggs Posted Oct 30, 2002
Yes! Linda Smith.
She would be perfect for the show.

Chronicargonaut Posted Oct 30, 2002
How about Boris Johnson... Tory Mp and Telegraph columnist... very funny in a vague sort of way.
Angus's replacement!
Chronicargonaut Posted Oct 30, 2002
Maybe there should be a selection process for the new presenter in the style of Pop Rival/Idol/Stars.Imagine Pete Waterman saying:"Son, your're amusing but I have seen sarcastic types like you come and go in my line of work....close the door on your way out..."

Citizen S Posted Oct 30, 2002
Boris would be excellent ! But I guess they couldn't really have a current Tory MP because the Conservatives get slagged so much on the show.

Basil Brush. He could keep things going nicely for a couple of seasons before his chicken habit gets leaked to the newspapers.

Boris would be awful! The man is a prat (allegedly ) and I don't see how the quiz could continue while the guests constantly harangue the host, apparently one of the reasons why Angus had to go...

Otto Fisch ("Stop analysing Strava.... and cut your hedge") Posted Oct 30, 2002
What about Paul Merton as the new host and Eddie Izzard as the new resident team captain? Or are they too, er... well, not so much similar as, er, comperable?

He's too vague- like Tom Baker. Both amde good guests, put the host is supposed to take charge of the show- I can't see either of them doing that.

Chronicargonaut Posted Oct 30, 2002
Shame Spike Milligan is no longer with us, if anyone could keep the panellists in check and the viewers entertained, it would have been Spike.
