Angus's replacement?
sprout Posted Dec 15, 2003
Boris is the business. The Beeb should give him his own show! Maybe a chat show kind of thing, interviewing guests - they'd never know whether he was for real or not....

"Ah, yes, right, you really are very good at, um, ah, that thing you do, which is, erm, oh it's um, hold on, no, I'm not, didn't I see you in, ah, that thing, it was, erm, what was it? Oh it's, ah, oh, I don't agree with what this script says, rather ungalant I thought, but anyway, what was it? A FILM! Oh yes, film, erm, which one?"
Yes, I could just imagine Boris doing a talk show.

Combination of
1) No such thing as bad publicity (how many other Tory backbenchers can you name?)
2) Public school tradition of 'having a go' even if you manifestly aren't very good
Maybe?

Angus's replacement?
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Dec 15, 2003
I thought he showed a couple of flashes of brilliance amongst the bumbling. There was the wonderfully Deaytonesque "I couldn't fail to disagree with you less." And the exchange with Rick Wakeman:
"Did you ever marry a Miss World, Rick?"
"Er.... one of my wives was a Miss... something."
"A mistake?"
Angus's replacement?
Mad - I need a holiday, very seriously... Posted Dec 16, 2003
i have to say that i thought that boris did quite well. my mother spent the whole programme going on and on about how intelligent he is really and how his hair _is_ supposed to look permanently dishevelled. I dont think we're ever going to get angus back unfortunately. also my own personal theory is that we probly wont get a permanent presenter now either. this guest presenter thing works too well.
