The top shelf of my book-case is in a cardboard box, as indeed are all the shelves of all my bookcases.
With me, in the hotel, I have:
Georgiana Duchess of Devonshire - Amanda Foreman
The Bridge - Iain Banks
Open Secret The autobiography or the former Director General of MI5 - Stella Rimington
and my journal, as Oscar Wilde said 'one must have something sensational to read on the train'.
My books are completely out of order having been put into boxes and then on to shelves and then into boxes 4 or 5 times each in the last 18 months.
I am tempted to organise them by theme and to hell with fiction and not fiction and authors etc; the stuff about the Mercury and Apollo missions would go with the Arthur C Clarke, for example. Pratchett's witches books with stuff about psychology and NLP. The Oddessey with The Lord of the Rings and Anne McCaffrey.
I had a friend who organised her books by colour like a

I have a problem with this thread. If I type it all in as requested, people will unfortunately realise that:
a) I am sad enough to alphabeticise my bookshelves.
b) I read too much Pratchett.

When Mrs SM was in hospital before the birth of baby SM the table in the middle of the ward had, what looked like, every Jeffrey Archer novel on it - and various copies of Bella, Woman's own and the like.
Have we uncovered the indentities of both of the Jeffrey Archer fans?
