Phil, you make me long for Manchester. I spent my best time ever there a long time ago. But one thing I remember, the fog that sometimes was so thick, that the bus could not drive at normal speed, but had the conductor with a lantern walking in front of it. But I loved walking in it anyway, hanky in front of nose and the eery silence when you could not see anybody, just spookily heard their footsteps and you did not know if it was friend or foe. It was great. Of course, summer, spring, winter and fall were wonderful too.

It was really sunny today (though still freezing, of course).

I said last night "Maybe it will be sunny tomorrow" and my housemate said something along the lines of "Dream on!" but I was right, we think that maybe I can control the weather.

Maybe it will be sunny again tomorrow. Maybe it will be hot and tropical. Anything's possible!

Apparantly here in Britain we're on the brink of a drought. Now I'm no weather expert, but...

I don't care, I have the biggest resevior in Europe on my doorstep that the health guys put flourine in to keep our teeth nice and clean!

As a Californian, I just can't imagine England in a drought.



I'm a big jerk about self-moderation, and entry 1255 looks like it needs to be Yikesed for copywright reasons, in that it's not just a fair quote but the entire poem. I am presuming since I have never heard of the poet, it is because he's relatively modern, and since copywright is now nearly 100 years in the US of A, I am betting his work is not public domain.

Does anyone know more about him than I? I hate to cause trouble, but I will be a troublemaker if it seems necessary.
