Improving conditions here. Should be fine and 18C tomorrow and 'they' are promising us fine and 24C for the Melbourne Cup (Horse Race) on Tuesday. Lots of ladies and their hats will be praying they are right

Well, it's 22.42h on that hump of Southamerica and it is dark, Orion is just twinkling the three star belt over me out front and in the back I can see Mars still pretty bright and yellow. Earlier on there was Venus very strong on the western horizon. Temperature 28°C and all is quiet.

We've have just enjoyed a total eclipse of the moon and now, while it was slowly appearing in it's silver glory again, a heavy rainfall spoiled our fun. 
It is 22.55h and the temperature is 26°C

59F Light winds now. Winds gusted up to 20 mph as a storm front cleared up from yesterday. Partly cloudy. Minor flooding in the center of the LA basin, rather unusual since all rivers here have been aligned and cemented over.
Fires completely out, looters prosecuted. Flames never made it to LA city proper, and storm systems that came in to help put the flames out have washed all the particulates out of the sky, so the heavens are once again blue. No mudslides yet, despite much looking by sensationalist news crews. My yellow dahlia is putting out one last-gasp full-bloom dinnerplate, (it's actually budding for another afterward, but the bud won't make it before it becomes to chill to open).

Melbourne Australia is running true to form. Yesterday we had an almost record high for November with a temp of 39C and today we got to 20C. Should be warming up again over the next few days.
