It took Gladly, the Cross Eyed Bear from South Carolina about a month to post after his hurricane. Perhaps ~jwf~ is still cleaning things up.

65F, no wind, cool and dry. If one spots a star visible through Los Angeles' light pollution, you'd best check and see if it's a star and not some UFO intent on ET-frat-party anal probes.
It has been sunny and warm the last few days, getting up to 77F, but most of the last fortnight has been overcast, reaching only 72F or so. There's been almost no wind, so the smog levels are uniformly moderately bad, with the northern mountain deserts getting the 'worst' rating. This is possibly due to season's end crop-stubble burning from California's Central Valley breadbasket.
Oddly, my passiflora fetoedissima v. hirsuta (started new from seed this year) is putting out nigella-like (love-in-a-mist) globes of filaments. Maybe it's fooled by the heat, and it'll bloom, early and off season?

Melbourne, Australia. 6:11pm.
Started off coldish, went to nice and warm (20 something, I think)and sunny, then cloudy and it rained, then nice again, then hailing and absuloutely pouring at 4ish, and now fairly dark for this time of night in this time of srping and overcast with the occassion dribble.
Typical Melbourne "Boiling one second, where's the unbrella got to? the next"

Well after a very windy night it looks like it's calmed down a bit. The sky is mostly blue with the sun shining but the temperature on a scale of too hot to too cold is on the cold side of reasonable. Travelling in on the train gave me some good views of the tree leaves turning russet, gold and red in the autmnal days

Im in a little town called Chepstow, just inside Wales and the weather is being rather passive...not really threatening to do much...its quite dark during the day, but often quite warm along with it...
On the whole the weather is 'confusing'

Rain and lots of it ! First time its rained like this for months.
I know a lot of people don't like England because of the amount of rain we get, but I love it. Being inside with a fire going listening the rain pitter patter on the window
