2001: A Space Odyssey is rubbish!
Orcus Posted May 21, 2002
I think whomsoever started this thread should return and reveal their top 10 films so we can all pour scorn on them

I like Dirty Dancing and Moulin Rouge. Let the scorn begin...

It was just me; a musical, overthe top, and has Ewan McGregor in it. Even if I can't spell his nams he has a lovely voice...

>As I remember it, the pre-human wilderness was shown, in silence, from _six_ different angles, each of which was given enough time for all of them put together.< Juste Bob.
Interesting fact from amangement course recently attended by my boss-You have to say anything you want to be learnt at least six times...Make of this what you will. I think Kubrick was trying to make a point.

Thinking about it, possibly three... I can't remember if Manhunter was late '70s or early '80s... It starred the guy who plays Grissom in CSI, and was the first film to feature Hannibal Lecter.

VIP, I think we could pretty much all agree that you need to go out of your way to see "Casablanca", at least once. It's a bit of a weepie, made in 1942 just before the USA entered WWII. Black-and-white, of course... But the acting is superb, the plot works well, the music is perfect for the mood... Many, many people consider it the best film of all time. It's my favourite to watch (I always cry a little) but I think the Seven Samurai is a better movie... It's just that I don't often have the time to watch three-hour plus black-and-white action movies in Japanese with subtitles...

Yes with the loss of youth comes the wisdom that new lots of new youths will come along and say that everything you thought was good when you were young is rubbish and in 10 years they will suffer the same fate.
..and the wheel of time turns

I will remember that. Casblanca. I've heard if it but never seen it.
