White Fang and Call of the Wild. I'm quite enjoying them - it must be quite a task to get into the head of a wolf!

Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn
The sheep's in the meadow, the cow's in the corn.
And where is the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under the haystack - with Little Bo Peep!

I finished Deathly Hallows and am picking back up where I left off from Bart Ehrman's "Misquoting Jesus"

Just started Life of Pi. So far it's pretty interesting... Mostly about animals and religions right now...

Life of Pi is one of my favourite books ever!
I'm reading Geoffrey Blainey's "A Very Short History of the World" - an abridged version of his "Short History of the World".

I've had to put "Anna Karenina" to the side. I've liked the other Dostoyesky (sp?) I've read, and the cultural and historical aspects are interesting, but I'm just not in the mood for a melodramatic, period-piece tragic romance novel now. I'll have to try again later.
So, having thoroughly enjoyed the film, I picked up "Let The Right One In", and have read half of it this morning. Great stuff, even if I do know more or less what to expect.

Er...Dostoevsky? I'd check the cover...
I suppose if it were Dostoevsky, your spelling would be as good as any Roman transliteration. You say Chernobyl, the French say Tchernobyl, etc. etc.
I'm very much enjoying Dawkins' 'The Ancestor's Tale', but lacking inspiration for a novel to read. Looking at my shelf I can see a couple of Orhan Pamuks, and 'Solaris' by Stanislaw Lem. So maybe one of them.

Of course I meant "Tolstoy", but was had Dostoyevsky on the brain when I typed my last post (I had literally just handed my copy of "Notes From the Underground" to a co-worker).
But I had read "The Death of Ivan Ilyitch" and a handful of his short stories and liked those.
I read "The Ancestor's Tale" last year and loved it.

TAT is a superb read. Read for about the 3rd time not long back. I'm now reading 'The life and death of planet earth'. Erm, does what it says on the tin really, and it's by a physicist and a biologist. Very very interesting, even though I'm sure I read it 4-5 years ago.

I've started Solaris about a dozen times but I can't get into it. But I have recently read Snow by Orhan Pamuk and can seriously recommend it (especially if you like Russian literature, it reminded me a lot of Turgenev)

I just read Snow and didn't really enjoy it at all. Didn't care for the characters and didn't find it to be nearly as important as Margaret Atwood's quote on the cover claimed it to be!

My copy of '100 Classic Books' arrived today. I've started Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe as it's the first book on the list that I haven't read. I'm two chapters into it, and reading on the DS is so easy.
