Now that's a different problem altogether. For that you might have to ask successful blokes. As far as I know personally it's a whimsical thing and there are no defining dos and donts.

That´s what I meant, he´s also a scientists as well as being a musician. But I could live without the hair I have to admit.
Hmm, what are you supposed to do then if you don´t even have any Ms Possible´s? I´ve never met a girl I´ve even wanted to date. I suppose I ought to turn gay
Why was the "b*****d" censored? Anyone here who knows what the word means, but won´t know what it says simply cos there´s stars in the middle? Didn´t think so.

Hooloovoo Posted Apr 12, 2001
I find Ms Possibles. Then they either become my friend, ie no shagging, or I realise just how irritating they are and don't see them so much.
Turning gay? Not an option....
As for the censorship, lets not start that argument here. Ok, it a little annoying but I understand why its done and it doesn't really cause that many problems when it comes down to it.

Hooloovoo - do you need a makeover do you think? Difficult to think you've developed much of an image in your 22yrs. Perhaps the girls you're going for are the wrong type.

Yeah I'd love a make-over! But I don't trust my mates fashion sense anymore than my own....
I'd love to go on some TV show, and have some1 who actually knows what they're talking about buy me loads of new clothes. I hate clothes shopping. Well, shopping in general actually. Unless its for a new gadget

That could very well be, Juliet. After all, Hooloovoo has shown himself to be polite and articulate here. I'm sure that he can be that way in person, so he shouldn't have any reason not to have met a Ms Right of one kind or another...

"I hate clothes shopping"
I've had some of my BEST conversations with female friends during "shopping", bordering on "confessions" from them!
I wasn't very "good" at it either, in the beginning, but now, I've really grown to like it. A lot of my female friends call me when they go shopping, and I love to accompany them (I still have trouble with shoe-shopping, but I'm working on it: I'm learning to "read" shoes.)
All you need to start off with is patience (lots of it sometimes), and, obviously, being able to have a conversation.
Maybe you should try it, Hooloovoo: you'll learn a lot more about dress-sense (or sensible fashion) from your female friends than from talking to your mates or reading magazines...

Tell you what, Hooloovoo - post a picture of yourself on here - full length, fully dressed in your normal attire. Then we females will give you a virtual makeover!

Hooloovoo, grab that chance, you won't be aslked twice if you don't show some trust! (These are NOT your mates from the pub!)

Surely, he'll need to stick a picture on a non-h2g2 web site, drop a link to that site on his main page, and then post something here telling us that he's done it?
Hooloovoo - if you're a little shy, in the interests of solidarity, I'm happy to stick a few pictures of me somewhere for everyone to laugh at.
What do you women look for in a man?
Dax Posted Apr 13, 2001
Okay, I have no intention of reading 674 entries, so I´ll just pretend everybody knows what I´m talking about...
The first thing I notice in a man is the eye/smile combination. He has to have that certain glint in the eye and a cute smile isen´t bad. Plus I have to be able to have fun with him and he should be able to carry an intelligent conversation.
A good listener wouldn´t hurt either, since I talk a lot...

If (for any reason whatsoever) you followed the link to the "Institute of Cheer" (on my homepage), please ignore ANY fashion-advice from "the Dorcus Collection"!
(It goes without saying you should NOT follow the "interior design"-tips and the "food"-tips either...)

OK, first I'll need to get a photo.... theres the one on my web site but its not my normal attire, and I dont have that nasty centre parting anymore. My hairs a bit more like "Angel" now, or at least that was the style I was going for, didn't really succeed. I've been looking at leather jackets today, I'd like a full length one but I'm not tall enough. Found quite a nice one, reasonably long but without dragging on the floor....... still haven't decided whether to get it though.
Have a look at the photo on my web site, I've got a full length one if anyone wants it... (god knows why they would ). It's just one of me looking a bit smarter than usual..... the shoulder to my right is Patrick Moore!!
Hooloovoo
ps. Remember my hairs not as nasty as that anymore!!

You guys HAVE been busy while I've been out of the loop.
Hoovooloo - ask your friends who are girls to take you shopping to buy clothes for you... fun for them and a makeover for you.
Why can't you have sex with friends anyway? Ok, it can snarl up, but I found it pretty pointless sleeping with people I don't like. And it REALLY helps to set some ground-rules; if you both know it's a fling for the summer, or just until you go back to Uni, or whatever whatever, then you are much more likely to avoid the psycho-ex-girlfriend-from-hell syndrome.
Xanatic - why do you assume people are laughing at you? Maybe they are just having a good time anyway. OK Athur Dent could feel self-conscious alone in a room with a cheese plant, but there is no need for you to feel like that.
May I make a suggestion? Practice asking people questions about what they think and feel, and why they think and feel like that; and only tell them what you think or feel when they ask you. And if they are barking mad, try to find out what made them that way. You don't need to change your personality overnight, just practice a different way of interacting with people once in a while. You are a very very bright guy, and interested in all sorts of stuff, try out being interested in why people are as wierd as they are.
And in the meantime - life is to short to be miserable. Do the things you enjoy doing anyway, and have fun. This has two benefits - you'll be having a nice time, and you'll seem a much better bet.

Kareem, I just wanted to let you know that I looked through the Interior Desecration on the Insititute site. I am rolling with laughter! Beautiful work!
Hooloovoo, let's see your new hair! New piccy, please.
