Would you accept "twister" as ropemaker?(Of course cordwainers was cobblers - I was trying to refer to the original posting without mentioning awls) Loco-motion for anyone promoting DJ?
(Imposter is a nominal contraction for I'm a poster?)smiley - star

Regarding motion-words for sideways career moves, maybe :

Remotion (though it does seem to imply moving without actually stopping)
Amotion, Paramotion, Transmotion ?

Post 25

Pheroneous

Perhaps terminotion may be appropriate in this case!

Moving? In Europe? Your the Typhoid Jenny (was that her name?) spreading all that Foot and Mouth!

*Munchkin's promise to himself to not be silly in the sensible threads goes up in smoke quicker than an infected cow*

Hasn't that got something to do with learning to speak proper? Bit late to be moderating your accent.smiley - star

Not possible! There's a ban to import meat from the UK (AND from France, what a relief)!
(Sorry DJ, nothing personal! I still eat meat!) smiley - winkeye

Still, if it really *is* ecu-location, even if they'd kept you in the dark about the change, I suppose you'd still have ben able to see it coming?

True, but it would be more EMU-sing to keep me guessing.smiley - laugh

Some Belgian politicians are wondereing: NOW it's fairly easy to calculate how many Belgian francs something costs when the price is in Euro, but when the B-franc won't exist anymore, how are they going to calculate prices THEN?
French politicians have answered that their solution was to change all their money first in American dollars, and only THEN in Euro, it's about the same worth.
German politicians are rubbing their hands: the actual numbers in their salaries will stay the same, they'll just replace Deutsche Mark by Euro, or else...

As one time footballer and current Euro person for Ireland, Paul McGrath, says: "Know the rate, know the date, and think Euro".

In practice all financial documents (shops prices, bank statements, tax bills) have been shown in local currency (also rather charmingly known as legacy currency)and Euros. The fact that the politicians are worried about calculating their salary speaks volumes about their interests and general competence smiley - winkeye.

My quote when one of the users was talking about wanting to still see the amounts in French Francs after next year: "From the changeover date it will be as meaningful to set a liability limit in Francs as it would be to set the limit in horse feathers".
