Had a delicious sauerkraut made by a German friend, although she prefers to make the version from Alsace in eastern France.

sauerkraut or "choucroute" in French is a dish made from cabbage, yes, but cooked in white wine and served with smoked meats and potatoes. The cabbage is not the fresh kind, but has been conserved in brine until cooked. DELICIOUS!!

No, because it's cold, so it sort of spreads like marg (making marg itself redundant and enabling me to classify the sandwich as Healthy Eating).

No, no, no - it's like a savoury jam (with onions) spread in a layer, and it tastes *lovely*.

Irish stew! Yummm! A rare treat in our very Eurofied canteen.
And then a slice of pineapple, and my tongue is still tingling and I'm considering never eating pineapple again
