Let's see how do I know I am old is when:
Having to consentrate on listening to conversations in a crowded room so one can hear.
Having vinal records before they made a comeback, that and cassettes.
Anything tie-tied.
Looking at teenagers and wondering, what could they possibly know about life. (no contempt meant but just to cite how many life changes one has to go through between 16 and 50)
Knowing therapy can only go so far.
All that doubt and anxiety was just brain static.
Recalling all the pets one had.
Finding oneself in a room with no clue as to what you came in the room for.
Holding one's great nephew and having one's eyes well up in joy that one lived to see the little boy.
Giving one's son a heirloom of his grandparents to trust to pass on.

My son and I went to see the movie "Charlottes Web"...the new version not the cartoon. How many of you think of a web as a spider web and a virus is something that makes you sick...not your computer. I remember cheap candy bars...remember soda fountains and penny candy...also outdoor moviesUffdamaida

We still have a "drive-in" movie about 10 minutes down the road. These days, you tune in your car radio for the sound, instead of the 15-pound speaker hung off of the window. But much of the experience is the same.

I had a birthsday few days ago. That morning i was drinking coffee with my friends and we made a few photos of us together. Then i noticed signs of ages on my skin on that photos and i felt really old.

Realising that the 70's were 30+ years ago, when I was born.
Not being cool or hip enough to make new RL friends.
Hating modern music and not being able to see what they (teenagers/kids) see in it.
Agreeing with the Grumpy Old Men and Women on EVERYTHING!

That is not being old that is just maturing. Being old is when you fill in a form on line and have to scroll down for ten minutes to find the year you were born in

Realizing that 1977, which makes some feel old, was the year that I first donned my country's uniform.

Heard one from a teacher yesterday. A dinner lady made a remark to a couple of kids about Santa putting cinders in their stocking if they are bad. They didn't know what cinders were - central heating.

How's about cleaning a closet, in a house I've only lived in for 7 years, and finding a stack of pencil-coded cards. I'm not sure which is sadder, ... that I remember coding these Holarith cards, or that I still have them some 35 years, and atleast 12 residences, later.

Speaking about going through one's closets, finding a 5.5 inch floppy disk from my first PC that didn't have a hard drive, then the 3.5 disks with emails from my son from high school, a guide book for using Basic, and a box of letters that extend from 1977 to present.

Hearing a song and suddenly saying, oh I like this record. Finding paperwork from the past that looks yellow and old. LIKE MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Traveller in Time measuring floppy disks
"Five and a quarter inch , those were the modern high density disks at the time, I still have an eight inch lying around.
Must go and update once again, now they only have USB sticks in the shop instead. "
