Jamie, I don't know... I'd like to see how Photoshop runs on a quad P4 Xeon 2GHz... (the chips with the 1MB of level-1 cache...)

True, true. I hadn't heard much about those. How much do those things cost? There are a few cool things about Macs, though.
1. Comes with a lot of software you either have to download or buy with a PC.
2. Just like the setup, i.e. features etc. Hey, get this: Microsoft admits that Office v.X (only on Mac OS X) is better on a Mac and has more features on it that the older PC version. I like that. Another thing - My friend has this PC only CD at my house, and we put it in my 4 year old iMac just for the ____ of it. I look at some trailers, and run more of them here than on his 2 year old PC. Compatibility, maybe? Ah, well.
I suppose that it's really a matter of preference, but our preference as Mac users is right!
Well, see you guys around.

I use both - it's a case of whatever tool takes the least effort for a particular job. I'm just lazy.
I can't remember the price of Xenon CPUs, which is a pretty fair indicator they're well over £1000 each, since I only remember the price of things I have a remote chance of affording. A quad slot-one board to fit them in is somewhere around the £350-£400 mark...

I was wrong earlier about the newest Mac being a G4 833 dual processor - I just saw an ad for a Mac G4 1 gig dual-processor out! WOW! I have to admit though, I am a techno-junkie! And there's nothing that I like to do better than walk through a comp USA and look at all the new computers, sound systems, gadgets and computer games!

Yeah, the new G4 Tower is quite impressive. Did you see the 128MB GeForce 4, though? I told that to one of my friends, and he refused to believe it until I showed him the web site. It's first out on the new G4. Only costs $3000 plus monitor.

Pandora, you're in!
You're safe, btw, since as I've admitted to using PCs on a regular basis I'm already the butt of all the jokes around here.

Can I bring down the tone of this group? I don't hate PCs, but I currently have a beard and can arrange to "smell of wee" by running Mac User Sprinkler Attachment 1.0 if that is a membership requirement.

It's probably about time I joined I supposed, he said typing away on his G3 466MHz 192MB RAM iBook (late clamshell model) during sickleave from work (766MHz ~600MB RAM G4 mini-tower w/ 21" monitor)...
I must admit to using PC's on the odd occassion, but the happy day when Discreet finally convert 3DStudioMax to MacOS I'll never look back
