Hi Pandora,
Sorry, I didn't realise there were American's on this list. I thought it was some kind of specific UK site. I've never seen this H2G2 thing before.
Received some good news today. My Sister phoned me, and her friends Brother has given her an Apple Powerbook 230 and Duo Dock! yeah yeah I know its old, and only worth about £50 or £60 nowadays, but this little powerbook cost over $2000 back in 1992!!! One site I really love reading is 'Low End Mac', and I want to rig out this Powerbook and have it running the internet (even if it has to be on a text only browser).
Hey that's got to be good, right? how many 1992 machines do you know that are capable of running the Internet? Hopefully it'll be a great machine. I've got an old bubblejet printer that I used to use with a Commodore Amiga, hopefully I can get this working with the powerbook, and it'll be an excellent setup. Old mac's can be just as productive as new ones
Rock on.

Hmmm, this ain't no ornery message board is it? I just clicked on Pandora's name and it came up with some sort of explanation! Is this the personal reference thing I read about somewhere earlier? I take it we can all write a bit about ourselves and leave it up for all to see. Yeah, ok that makes sense.
Eeer, so how many American's and other nationalities are here on this Mac Orchard? I had a guess with that smiley I used in the last post. I don't know how to do the other one's. Can you get e-mail notification when someone replies to your posts here?
This place seems a little weird, not the people, just the setup and the way everything is... different here. Someone led me another brain cell, this is gonna take me a while to get the hang of.
Umm, I like my iBook. I also like, and have nothing against PC's. Shoot me if you wanna. If it works, what's the problem? the user is always the most important part of any computer.
Aaah, the shin lotion is kicking in now.

OBC,
Pandora, the "" just meant I'd got round to adding you to the list... (for my sins, I run this little corner of the Guide...)
OBC, click on any of the smileys and you will be taken to the place where they all hide... More instructions will be found there.

Somebody mentioned a 1992 machine that will browse the Internet... Amiga will - as long as it's not required to interpret Javascript. It's not compatible with the old Amiga OS.
Amiga is finally releasing AmigaOne, the new motherboard with the G3 chip and USB connections. I haven't found anything on their sites that indicate I can use my old video toaster card with it, but it does say that it will use the classic chipsets with a PCI bridge. The new OS is very compatible with Java, and it looks like a multi-platform machine - I'm still trying to figure out if any program will run on the Amiga, or if it's only (!) capable of developing programs for any platform. Yeehaw...

Wahey I'm here I'm here!
Hi Rod and Suncage. Yep, I am busy lazing around here. Yet to write any research for this place and currently contemplating the half price-first year sign up for .Mac.
Someone else over at Apple Discussions told me of an interesting alternative for web site hosting and what not, its a two horse race at the moment. I've also got a new e-mail address for when, or if, I lose my mac.com account.

I've been exciled from the Apple forums for 30 days because I had the freakin' nerve to think different.
They did it to teach me a lesson and I learned. I learned that I don't like it there anyways, so WTF?

You're in, Donna... The page may vanish again soon because of overenthusiastic moderation, but *Don't Panic!*...

btw, Donna, when you have a second, could you go to your personal space ("My Space" button), click "Edit page" and add a couple of words about yourself... If you don't you'll only get the ACEs (Assistant Community Editors) wingeing to you everywhere you go; they have a quota of people to "meet and greet", and they can't do that till you activate your space by editing it...
Pass the message on to any other refugees from the Apple boards you meet...
