Spent 3 hrs at the city´s oldest cinema, watching part one of Bertolucci´s "1900". No break and not the most comfartable seats...

Good movie, but the first hour or so was slooooow. Guess the director wanted to show what kind of society that was the roots of fascism. Part two is next Sunday.

Funny thing with italian films - it´s always voice-over. It was quite odd hearing Burt Lancaster and Donald Sutherland speak italian. The voice over was out of sync, esp with the american actors..

I hope I can make it next Sunday, and see part two - in spite of the bad seats.

It probably because the movie is older than you smiley - biggrin

Bernardo Bertolucci made it 1976 and it´s a story about Italy from the early 20th century until the mid seventies. Two men - the landowner´s son Alfredo and the fatherless farmworker Olmo - are born on the same day and their lives are followed in the context of the society changes from a traditional agricultural poor counrty, via fascism to the modern variety.

Here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074084/ you can read more about it.

There was a male character on UK TV in the 1970s called "Hazell", if that's any help...?
