The Aroma Café: Past Christmas
Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Jan 14, 2004
Your talk will go fine Lil, I know it.
There should be a law that prohibits phone calls prior to 10AM.
*Cup of coffee for me IIEM.*

Mrs Zen Posted Jan 14, 2004
Well, I haven't done any of the paperwork, but the kitchen is clean and tidy! Domestic archeology.
Actually, I needed an industrial digger.
The Stepson does *not* know how to throw things into rubbish bins. Among the other debris there were two empty juice cartons, two empty milk cartons, one carton of sour milk, an empty coke bottle, an empty packet of salmon and an empty bottle of washing up liquid, (though that may be down to me).
I told him yesterday that I am not trying to change who and what he is, just teach him a suite of civilised behaviour patterns that he can use in appropriate circumstances, such as visiting girlfriends' parents.
But at the moment I would settle for someone who throws away packets of cereal when they are void.

*watches a card with a z on it flutter to the ground*
A calling card? In the café? That makes me so homesick. It's weird not to have an Atelier thread on my conversations list.
*watches ook put an 'h' in front of 'it' and then lay other tiles in two swift moves to make the word 'xiphoid'.
Masterful! It used all your letters. 'x' is on a triple letter and the 'h' is on a double word square so it counts for both words!

I just got back from a reception for our new city administrator. He starts on Monday. He seems like a nice guy. I hope he isn't gullible and doesn't believe everything he's told.

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Jan 14, 2004
*strides purposefully up to the IIEM*
I'd like a double tall decaf breve with 1 shot of sugar free vanilla, and a half a shot each sugar free caramel and hazelnut, please.
*retrieves her drink and finds a seat, nudging Marv over in the process*
I honestly did not know that the trails left by snails had a name.
And on the tallness factor...I'm not. Caer and I are about the same, actually, 5' 4" or there abouts. And like you, Z, I always thought I'd be taller. When I was a kid, before I understood that certain genetic things were immutable, I drew a picture of myself as an adult. I drew myself as being very tall, and for some reason I've never quite figured out, black. Instead, I'm a short white woman.
Who knew?!

FG Posted Jan 14, 2004
IIEM, a big cup of Irish Breakfast tea with cream and Splenda, please.
I'm only 5'1", but I knew that was going to happen. My dad is only 5'10" and my mom *was* 5'3", but she's shrunk with age, and now she's my height. Since I wear clogs with little heels, I always look taller than her. I never imagined myself as tall when I was a child, instead I focused on the important things: I imagined myself either as a rock star or as an archaeologist.

Hey ho, another day, and no work done.. A has a friend around and they are transalating something in Greek together, and making me feel very unstudious..

I didn't *tip* you over, I just *nudged* you over to make some room to sit!

Lil, you'll be awesome.
I broke a cardinal rule I have for myself this morning. I took my daughter to the school bus stop in sweats and my slippers. Yeah, well, if it hadn't been for the smellfungus, I would have gotten to bed on time...

Could I have a dubious brown substance in a polysterene cup, I haven't been into hospital today and I feel I should drink some of the coffee served in the canteen.
