The Aroma Café: Past Christmas

*Wanders in*
Ohh This looks cosy.
Asks the IIEM for a cup of Chai (that nice spiced milky tea pleasae, but not too sweet) I can say it, but not spell it.
Takes a sip, Ahh you can brew better than I can spell
*takes a seat and watches the scrabble*

Is it just me, or do the herbal teas - like the Celestial Seasonings ones - have either no flavor at all or taste like tree bark?
And a friend told me to buy English Breakfast tea, but I can't find any. I'd like to try it.

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Jan 14, 2004
Hypatia, it's you. I love Celestial Seasonings' teas, particularly the Red and Lemon Zingers. Red Zinger makes the best iced tea.
Toc, it's chai alright. black tea with (basically) pumpkin pie spice, black pepper and cumin, sweetened. I make my own.
Oh, and Bigelow has just come out with a line of teas that are like dessert. Vanilla caramel, hazelnut, almond cream...add a little splenda and a little cream, and it's oooh.
yeah, that good.

Munchkin Posted Jan 14, 2004
Having got the idea now, I will have an Earl Grey please, with a wee bit of lemon. Cheers. That's about as exotic as I get.

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Jan 14, 2004
ooh, IIEM, could I please have a diet vanilla pepsi?

for joggin' my memory Montana Redhead, I couldn't quite decide what to ask the IIEM for!
IIEM, I'll have a large Chai please!
IIEM: One large chai coming up sir...there you are!
IIEM,*sniffs deeply & repeatedly*...ooh, yes had almost forgotten about that deliciously pungent aroma!

Someone say Chai? sweetness. The next time any of you are at B*rders (books, music, cafe), try the Chai freeze... It's chai, only in smoothie/slurpee fashion...
Not sure if this counts as Exotic... but whenever I am at a fast food restaurant, which becomes more and more frequently I usually fill my cup with coke, and then a shot of the flavored iced tea they've all got propped up on the drinks counter... It's a bit like coke, but with a slightly different(and tastier) flavor, texture, and look...

IIEM, I'd have a sencha , please.
I feel weak and weary. It's been a day I heard that sound of a deadline passing by. I wasn't late much and I didn't cause any problems for other people but still it was disappointing for myself.
I need more , less and no .

Oh, sit & relax Hati!

Our Borders only has a bucks in it. Though I did get worryingly attacted to their iced coffee. Today in R/L I'm on coffee with a shot of baileys in, it's disturbingly nice. I may end up drunk.. I wonder if my flatmate will be up for another game of chess tonight..

drunken chess? Sounds like a plan!
Starbucks is okay, however four dollars sounds a bit much for a coffee don't you think?

Z Posted Jan 14, 2004
I'm not sure if I'm still supposed to be boycotting them actually. Yes the prices are a bit steep.
Drunken chess was great fun..

We don't have a Borders but we do have two Waterstones and an Ottarks (I think it's called) as well as a couple of others. But only the Ottarks has shop, a Costa Coffee, which costs a lot.
Funny thing on the way back from Pilates, I take the country lanes over the Downs. Coming up the slope past the riding stables I could see a horse and rider, so slowed, realised that the horse was acting the giddy goat, stopped the car and waited. The rider was doing her best to get the horse to behave, but after a couple of minutes has to get to off and lead the horse. Just a few yards up the road was a level crossing (unmanned railway crossing) and just as the horse and, now walking, rider got across the lights flashed, the barriers came down and a train went past. The horse obviously picked up on the train approaching before we did.
IIEM, a please.

Two "Charbucks" (over-roasted/burnt IMHO) in my area, as well as 2 of our superior-again IMHO- Second Cup's http://www.secondcup.com , also a Timothy's http://www.timothys.com , actually afew independants too...bit of a "caffeine quadrant" or "java junction".
IIEM, another large Chai please!

Marv, if you want some *real* I'd recommend a Mog's usual: A triple espresso with an extra shot of espresso, and a shot of espresso on the side
Speaking of Mog and the Moogles... *looks around* - I hope they haven't been buried under a heap of backlog again...
You see, this place has been pretty slow for quite some time - it might take a while for café regulars to get used to, especially for those of the regulars who weren't around pre-Rupert
Please be a bit careful about leaving calling cards - we've got a rabid cleaning bot locked into that closet over there...*points* ...who we prefer not to let out unless we have to...
...unless we could get the garden bot to come over here to gather up cards?

I too am drinking Chai in RL this evening. I make my own, but buy the Chai Masala from the local Oriental Grocers - theirs is nice and peppery, really hot.
Baileys is the perfect shot for hot drinks, and I am having to resist pouring some into the Chai. If I cannot get to sleep Horlicks and Baileys does it for me every time...
Won't have any problems sleeping tonight. For some reason I am shattered today. The excitement and supermarket kareoke last night had nothing to do with it, of course....
Take care, everyone. Sleep well. Be happy.

Ti, espresso is fine, but I prefer campfire coffee. Stuff that gets bits of pine needles falling in it. Stuff that gloops out of the pot rather than pours. I want my coffee to dissolve fillings and wake up the dead.
