Aaaaaw no fair how come EVERYONE has a wombles affiliation apart from me? Humph, I shall make my own womble music and it'll be far superior to any CD/record ... I have the smurfs but I would like to point out that I am not proud and it is purely accidentalsmiley - smiley
And BTW, irrelevant comment but need to infiltrate it somewhere "Woohoo Schumi for Champion!"

Actually the best cartoon ever was Dungeons and Dragons, can't remember the theme tune but the programme was excellent!

"this is scary"
"woaah"
"where are we"
"do not fear, barbarian, acrobat, theif" etc

recall it now?

Yeah actually and there was the rollercoaster/ghost train type thingy and they all went in and then...didn't that unicorn die? That was sad. Dangermouse was cool too but it has to be said that the theme for Banana Man was the best (after Thundercats obviously) although He-man had actions so it's a tough choice. My mates laughed at me the other week as we found an old He-man video and I knew all the words, I can't understand why thats seen as funny, surely everyone does? smiley - smiley

I liked thundercats better than he man

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed*

Why are you on strike? From what, life in general or something specific?
Thundercats had Kit and Kat and those fun surfboard things and that snarffy cat being but He-Man had the big cat thing too and he could use the power of animals and he had the power of greyskull and there where cool action figures and there was She-ra (who on second viewing at an older age was actually quite feeble and pathetic) and it was just better and I really REALLY need to get a new conjunctivesmiley - smiley

I never found she-ra good, but then she only came in when I was tiring of he-man... still liked thundercats though.

I can't actually remember a He-man without She-ra it'd be like Benjamin without Tulip (that was my mums favourite childrens book, my brothers called Benjamin so you can imagine how close I came to being called Tulipsmiley - smiley). Anyway, she was feeble and pathetic (as I mentioned) and just stood there whilst He-man went to rescue her! Honestly, and I used to think she was such a good role model as well. Of course that honour is now reserved for Buffy which has been annoyingly moved to Wednesday so as to confuse everyone but that's entirely irrlevantsmiley - smiley

What are you lot playing at? I start a perfectly good thread about music suitable to get off your head to, and while I'm at glastonbury u turn it into a discussion on antique cartoons!

U went to Glastonbury? Did you see the great man that is Boris Johnson? There was such a funny interview with him and Billy Braggsmiley - smiley Did you get to see Kelis murder many brilliant US anthems such as Nirvanas Teen Spirit and Born To Be Wild?

Besides the only reason we diverted to cartoons was because er... without your valuable input we were without sufficient knowledge to have an informed musical discussionsmiley - smiley

I've decided that the Rainbow tune wins the cartoon theme competition although it does sound remarkably like SClub5's new song so I may shortly re-evaluate my opinionsmiley - smiley

So thats where they get their inspiration from, I suppose it suits the alternative version of their name.

Back to the theme of Thundercats, I recently went to my boyfriend's house and completely embarassed myself when I spotted an old Thundercats video. I forced him to watch it with me and then asked him to record the theme tune for me on tape! This is how sad I am! Incidentally since I grew up in France, I watched all these cartoons dubbed in French, but they were just as cool!

Post 56

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed*

Sclub5's alternative nature as in them being appalling?

How does the snarffy cat thing sound when dubbed into French? Is it just the same or does it change like ducks quacking noises? I saw Stop the Pigeon in German and that was really funsmiley - smiley

I grew up watching the smurfs in Welsh (not understanding Welsh) - came as a big shock to see the smurfs AND understand them... the 'toon lost all its appeal

Post 58

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed*

I can see how it'd come as a shock because up until that moment you could have thought that Tom Jones was a smurf, to find out the truth would be upsetting at a young agesmiley - smiley
