oh no, I always knew what Tom Jones was.
Only had one exam - though for a whole week. Now writing a dratted report.
Oh, and I don't get results from the exam, though I do get a viva on the report.
that's it, I need a drink!

What about The Prince of Wales, is he a smurf?
Well finishing one exam is good, why don't you get any results though, what was the point in doing it if you don't get to know how you did (or have you been asking yourself that )
What's a viva isn't that some Spanish celebratory term? Aah well I'd definitely go with a drink, but look on the bright side if you don't have a results day you won't have to go in denial until said day nor will you have to go into hiding after said day...see everything has it's good points

Fully Recovered from glasters!
OK I'll let you all have one toon theme each on the juke box if you promise to give an explanation as to why and leave the subject of cartoons to another forum!
Tom Jones - a definite must for all jb's.

a viva is a live oral examination - a number of fellows and senior researchers in your field ask questions about your report or thesis.
it is not nice.
about the only celebration that occurs is when it is over
and then only if it went well
after most vivas, the subject goes to the nearest alcohol selling establishment

Gee! Sounds tough Aender(?)
What tune do you want playing in the pub when u finish your viva?
TB - prince charles might be a bit blue in colour, but I don't think he's a smurf, more of a father abraham!

AEndr, The Mad Hatter Posted Jul 4, 2000
Zarniroop, the name is Ændr, no extra "e"s
I am not sure that I know what I would like, depends on how the viva goes. Either Dies Irae or a nice requiem.

No points for listening skills You have to have a cartoon tune because we're being banned from talking about them now...although I would like to point out that my music knowledge will now rapidly run out
How are we supposed to pick one tune, there were so many good ones... does rainbow count as a cartoon because technically it's not so do we still get to have that as an extra? hmmm, we'll need to confer because if we all pick the same tune then that would be a waste of nominations, I reckon we should go for Thundercats, He-Man, Dungeons and Dragons and the Gummi bears...oh and muppet babies... and the racoons... is fragle rock a cartoon? Gaaaaaaaaaa too complex, need help

How about a tune of the day.
We can have a cartoon theme tune only once a week, and I'll start it off with "Rhubarb & Custard".
How does that sound.
Whoops for the name misspelling but I can't find your initial character on my keyboard! Help?

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Jul 5, 2000
Once a week? That's once in every seven days which is once in every 168 hours which is once in...well that's just scandalous but O.K, does it have to be Rhubarb and Custard though, can't we have Thundercats?

Zarniroop (er.... I'll think of something amusing to put here soon!) Posted Jul 6, 2000
Much respect for the wombles lyrics.
I'll make an exception and the wombles can be the 2nd toon tune this week.
Tinkerbell - you'll have to wait until next week for thundercats!
And I want to choose tomorrows tune early before some one else jumps in with a toon tune.
The tune of the day for friday will be The Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil. Chosen for many reasons which include the stones being the greatest band in the world, and this being one of their most awesome numbers.
The Rolling Stones will definetly be a regular choice of mine.
*still wondering how to get that funny character that is a cross between an A & E*

Its a scary thing you have to do with the control button followed by 4 numbers from the numeric pad. I can never remember it.

Thanks, that helps a lot. But I'm currently on a linux Xterm so I have no idea how to type it, I think I'll settle for copy and paste.
