Well lets see what I have read about americans in this thread over the last months by some researchers {not all} is their perceptions of americans are: Americans are obese and proud of it,racist,closed minded,uncultured,lacking willpower,greedy,abusive,invasive,
arrogant,aggressive,bullys,paraniod,rude,cowardly,amoral,murdering,
evil warmongers who sit around all day watching sitcoms dumbed down for them and absorbing words of wisdom from their guru Jerry Springer. All the while being ruled by a goverment whose main agenda is to,rape,pilage and rule the world. Oh yes iI let out stupid. {of course none of this is to be taken personally}

I disagree with one point though, Jerry Springer is a god amongst men.

I'm English by the way.

I think the main difference between Americans and English (because, let's face it, when we're talking about the British people what we really mean the English, as I'm sure the Scottish, Welsh and Irish will attest) on the "arrogant disregard for all other cultures" front is basically the inferiority complex. Less than a hundred years ago we ruled most of the world (a little bit like another country does right now) Of course, now we're basically just another island of Americanisation.

America on the other hand, still rules the world.

And also, we KNOW how much we're hated. We have the Irish, the Scottish and Welsh to remind us (As well just about every American movie ever made). Americans on the other hand seem completely ignorant of the pure malice the rest of the world feels for them.

Americans (or United Statesians, the Canadians are actually quite popular here) English, Germans, the triumverate of hated countries (please feel free to add the list). Of course there's also regionals like the French (hated by the English) and the Canadians (Hated by the United Statesians)

Bush apparently doesn't even need UN approval, let alone Congress. Well, that's alright then.

There's *much* more- and sinister- to the MaccyD's issue than that. Go and see said thread, it is disturbingly fascinating.

Nah, when we say 'British' we mean the Titled British. Wherever the moneyed, landowning English went there were similarly moneyed, landowning Lord/Earl/Viscount Scots, Irish, Welsh, also European, anyone really, was just as keen to shaft those who worked for them. I don't feel guilty for any misdeeds done by those who ruled over my coal-luggin' ancestors.

Whatever kind of wallpaper it is- loud and overbearing or subtle and traditional there will be someone somewhere who will hate it with every fibre of their being. Perhaps because of who hung it, perhaps because of the way it looks, or perhaps just because they wanted paint. Maybe *that's* the problem.

Maybe they need to do each room differently and only go to the rooms they enjoy the wallpaper in, or go to all the rooms, to hell with the wallpaper, just because the people there are nice

What would hold up the ceiling (metaphorically the concept that there is no heaven) and where would we put the paintings? (the art and higher endeavours of mankind)

An interesting thought, no more walls, just a gentle driffting between areas that once were rooms.... I think the furniture would look very odd and it wouldn't be long before every room looked the same, extremely boring if you ask me
