Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

Late at night. REgistering. It just came to me in a flash of lateral thinking.

At the time, I didn't even know what bonobos are famous for. smiley - blush. But now I do...doubly apt. smiley - biggrin

Triply apt. As a card-carrying evolutionist, it emphasises pan paniscus as the third species of chimpanzee, along with our close relatives, pan troglodytes and pan/homo sapiens.

And I've grown to like the name Edward. smiley - biggrin

Hans Van Smeiter was a fantastic Dutch striker on a Sega Mega Drive football game that I misspent my youth playing in the mid-nineties.

Not sure why I picked him in particular thoughsmiley - erm

Because of the Smite factor, I'd say. It's a fantastic nickname.

invisibleknight

The Invisble Knight was a character from the 1st poem I ever had published which was written on a nightshift on Live Ops during the 1st Gulf War.

He's invisible (obviously) and inhabits a post apocalyptic world of legend & science. He carries a VERY big broad sword & he's got a white horse called Benson smiley - winkeye

He's featured in 5 poems now and might actually feature in a novel one day!

Vicki Virago - Proud Mother

I'm late with this one as always.

Right.

When I joined the site I had a motorbike which was a Virago 535. I called her Vicki. Hence my name smiley - biggrin

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

TRG is my initials. The vowel makes it pronouneable. Hence the mixed case. I invented the name for myself in primary school, and have used it here and there ever since. I often sign text messages as TRiG.

TRiG.smiley - biggrin

LaMaestra

My original name on here was derived from my 3rd forename (which is the name I use) and the running time of a record I once cut. However, for some reason, this site won't let me log in with it so I use LaMaestra, the female equivalent of El Maestro 'the Master' because I AM the Master!

MrCheesy

This was the name of my imaginary game show host character, resplendent in gold lame, and a Winton-esque hue.

Some of my friends also know me as Fuzzy Jungle Pigeon, coined on a works night out by Sam 'Bruce' Lee, and useful for a username which needs to be secure... mixed with numbers and underscores

My favourite though is 'DiscoBison', which came about as the result of a simple mishearing whilst watching the 2000 Olympics closing ceremony, under the influence of mind and hearing altering substances (which I still do miss, very occasionally). I'm still not sure what it was that was being said to me.smiley - laugh

novosibirsk - as normal as I can be........

I wanted Albatross, but WA already had it - so my nickname honours a Russian lady whom I have known for 40 years. A long story behind the friendship, but Novosibirsk was where she originated.

Everything about it was so self explanatory.
