26 years ago? Definitely . An average day would consist of 20+ pints of black tea.
24 years ago? Back from college, and down to 10+ pints of black , now with lemon.
18 years ago? Down to 6+ pints of black , without lemon (Screaming Kidneys due to excess acid!! )
7 years ago? 12+ pints black (the black wasn't agreeing with the kidneys at all, and I had no fridge)
2 years ago? 1 kg+ of per month with milk, as now I have a Fridge (Yippee)
So...... 37 years of and 7 years of
Verdict? does it for me every time now. Not through choice though

Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Coffee, heck I often enjoy a cup.
But when push comes to shove, one or the other then every day of the week.

Toffee. Cotea. Coftea. That is to say, coffee, is better than tea, which is bteer than coffee. Tefee it is.
Dang, this is one of those "decision" thingies, isn't it?
When push comes to shove, I can't do without my double espresso.

I always thought that and ordinary (as in, not herbally flowery stuff) had the same amount of caffeine.
I simply *must* have my two cups of in the morning. in the morning just feels all wrong somehow.
Otherwise and that, I have the very occasional cup of in the afternoon/evening (never ) and prefer both black without sugar - except for with milk (though still no sugar) .

Right as I understand it gramme for gramme contains more caffine than .
However more of the caffine from gets absorbed into the liquid so a cup of has more caffine in than a cup of .
However a can of Coke has more than either!

Years ago, back in my late teens/early 20s, I was almost exclusively a coffee drinker - around 3 pints of strong black per day. (Advice about drinking 3-4 pints of water per day hadn't been given in those days.) Then I found that I was sometimes getting really bad headaches, often if I hadn't had a cup of coffee for a while. I mentioned this to my mum and she told me it was 'caffeine withdrawal symptoms'. I figured it wasn't healthy to go 'cold turkey' for caffeine, so I switched to drinking . If I'm working somewhere without a fridge, I drink herbal/fruit infusions. I have an occasional white , but no more than one cup per day.
As for the caffeine debate, my understanding is that an average cup of contains less caffeine than the strong I was drinking. The dish-water they serve in some places is so weak I can't believe it has any caffeine in it at all, while some places serve that's so strong it ought to carry a health warning. My of choice is Darjeeling - nice and mild and smooth.

Tea and as long as it is strong I do not mind which kind - well as long as it isnae lapsang Coffee drinkers are heretics and should all be burnt at the stake! Well the ones who stir the coffee first and then use the same spoon to stir the tea should be anyhoo Until later....

When people ask me, "how do you like your tea?" i answer, "i like it to be like coffee".
but i just saw a report on french television about tea that is very enticing; i think what i've always considered tea (in bags) gives a very poor idea of what the real thing is.

I think the best approximation is that bags to proper , is what freeze dried is to proper .
Disclaimer: I know you can get both bags and freeze dried however I use this as a rough approximation.

Meanwhile, bags exist??? News to me.
As for Lapsang, this always smells of burnt tires to me so I cannot drink it at all. My favourite tea is Earl Grey, black no sugar. My next favourite is a brand called Constant Comment orange-spice tea which always smells like Christmas to me.

I was shocked and appalled this morning, on my way home from work, to discover that the first Starbucks in Seville is going to be opened just across the street from my favourite brekky/coffee bar!
Aaaarrrgh!

Bad isn't it?
I just cannot understand why everyone want to have things being the same everywhere, this globalised world village thing really pisses me off, what happened to variety being the spice of life?

starbucks is worse than macdonalds because at least people who go to the golden arches don't think they're chic.
my advice: ignore starbucks. it probably won't go away but we can just pretend it did.
