>> ...actually, the story was about a woman eating a hunk of bloody meat. <<
Actually it's about a black, French speaking Haitian woman who married a Quebecois 'separatista', cutting out a seal's heart and sucking blood.

She's the pretty black lady with a red scarf and a knife seen licking her fingers.
And the naive are outraged, comparing her to Satan:

And Canadians news reporters wax on and on about 'tradition':

You left out the bit about being an immigrant and a descendant of slaves and rising to the highest office in the land quite some time before that son of a Kenyan made all the news a few months ago.

Apparently, he's a Muslim born in Kenya... all the old, long-discredited slurs are repeated unquestioningly.
My favourite bit: complaining that Obama gets his facts on American history wrong in the 'Statements' section, the article says that Roosevelt surrendered unconditionally to the Axis powers!
SPOING!

My word, that Conservapedia article was one of the most entertaining things I've read in ages. I loved the bit about shaking hands with the Saudi king: "His left hand stayed clearly by his side" - while in a photo right next to the quote you can see his right hand, y'know, the one people shake hands with, shaking that hand of the king.
The guy spoke up for women and gays - he must be a Muslim!

>Obama tries to downplay his Islamic background by claiming that his Kenyan Muslim father was a "confirmed atheist" before Obama was born, but in fact less than 1% of Kenyans are atheists, agnostics, or non-religious.
Gotta love that logic. Obama also claims to be president of the US, but in fact less than 1% Kenyans have sons who go on to be Presidents, Senators or Congressmen in the US.

Also, the fact that Muslims supported him far more than they supported McCain.
By that logic, on top of being a Muslim, Obama is an atheist mid-20s Hispanic gay woman. I'd love to be write something to that extent on Conservapedia but I don't know how

The Obama entry is locked. You see, you're welcome to contribute on Conservapedia unless you disagree with their opinions, in which case you are not.
One doctor, Peter Lipson, got so frustrated with pointing out that abortions do not cause breast cancer that he founded RationalWiki.

Malaysia: "In 2007, the government issued a warning over The Herald's use of the word "Allah", which officials had said could only be used to refer to the Muslim God."
The Herald being a Catholic paper.

and another linky:

"new lines are being drawn in the debate between belief and non-belief. ... The question is no longer simply, Does God exist? That has never admitted of a final answer anyway. Instead, it is this: What would it be like to live in a world without God?"
No, that is still the question, just the theologians are trying to shift focus away after being comprehensively canned in all and every debate on the matter.
And as for:
"What would it be like to live in a world without God?"
Um, have a look around?
Of course, that isn't what they actually mean - they mean what would it be like to live in a world without a religion telling you how to live, and some of the old 'font of goodness' twaddle again.
However, as Williams said "people will not be taught not to commit stupidities," holds quite some truth.
It is not necessarily a case of can or cannot be taught.
It's a case of whether or not they *want* to be taught.
